French Toast Mommi is an at-home daycare run by ********************************* mother *****. Our son (age 4) & daughter (age 9 mo) were both enrolled there (son: early 2021 to Dec 2021, daughter: Oct 2021 to Feb 2022). Starting in Nov, we began to have concerns - not about the care provided, but about their communication and business practices. Nothing that would justify a complaint, but instances where we felt belittled/pressured. We were also paying an additional fee for their Pre-k program, where they would teach a curriculum to our son 4 days/week. After a month, it seemed as though our son wasnt receiving the education we were told he would and would tell us most days that they didnt do school today. We withdrew him in Dec. Our daughter remained there, but then we did begin have concerns about her care (would arrive home dirty, dried/ignored snot on her face, received a picture of her laying in her throw up - which did not look like throw up - with a request to pick her up, on the same day another client received a similar photo/request). On 2/9 at approx. 1:00, we informed them that we will be withdrawing our daughter in two weeks. They responded within the hour that they planned to terminate service with us that Friday because they sensed tension, and instead told us that theyd be terminating immediately and to pick her up within the hour. We did not receive our deposit back, or compensation for the Thurs and Fri of that week (totaling $360). Their contract says that they can terminate service with no compensation if they feel there is a threat to their health/safety. When asked about this, they mentioned that they felt threatened when I picked her up (I expressed my frustration but was in no way threatening or physical - additionally, they ended service before this). We also never signed a contract. We have since heard more alarming stories from fellow clients and there were reports made to the proper authorities. We wish to be compensated $360.
