I am filing a complaint about damage incurred during a service provided. I want the broken window balance of $306.86 paid.We hired Beautiful America Painting ROC#******, to paint the exterior of our home in September 2022. Our exterior paint total was $4395.00 the balance paid on Friday September 30. The work was to be completed the next day, Saturday October 1. When we arrived home on Saturday, it was dark outside, and the job was completed/cleaned. The next morning, we noticed a large crack in the 2nd floor windowpane on our outside balcony off the master bedroom. This is not an area that we used and there was nothing on the balcony. ******** was notified and he came out. Upon inspection of the window, he conceded that the crack was in the outside glass panel. ********* told ** to get quotes and he would do the right thing. The cracked window was a large picture window. We got multiple quotes. The quotes varied from $3250 to the selected one of $1713.72. The cost for replacement was higher than any of us anticipated, so both parties agreed to pay half; $856.86 each. We paid our half when we sign the contract. The window is installed in March 2023 and Window World wants the final deposit upon installation. We put the final payment on our credit card on March 15th and sent the receipt to *********. He asked if he could pay half and then pay the remaining balance. We agreed. He zelled $400 on March 16th. We contacted him a few weeks later and he asked to pay less again. We agreed and he zelled $150. Balance of $306.86 left. Weeks go by and we do not hear from him despite multiple requests. Finally on May 22, I received a text from ******** that he does not need to pay the balance of $306.86 because it is a he said/she said and we have no proof that he broke the window. I disagree; the window was not broken before it was covered up to paint by his company and then it was noticed broken immediately following the paper removal.
