They didn't give me the refund that they promised for a Veteran's discount. They kept telling me "the check was in the mail." I gave them 6 months before I wrote this review. I finally decided to make note never to use them again. I used them in year's past on 2 of our homes. Very disappointed in them.

The technician was friendly but quoted me a price of $553.74 for changing my rollers, lubricating, and tightening the springs. I asked the technician if I could get a discount for doing all of the recommended services. He claimed that he was already giving me the best discount that he could by waiving the $65 service call fee. I thought this was an unreasonable price but since I did not really know how involved the service would be, I agreed to pay expecting that he would spend a few hours on the project. When the technician finished the service in less than 30 minutes, I knew that I had been duped:( I decided to verify my suspicion by contacting a company I knew was reputable for an estimate for the same service. They quoted me $229.95 for the same service. They also questioned why my quote from A-Authentic Garage Door Service included long-stem rollers explaining that it was unlikely that my garage door would need the long-stem rollers unless it is particularly heavy, which it is not. He informed me that some companies sell long-stem rollers instead of short-stem rollers to increase the price. Next, I called A-Authentic Garage Door Service to also request the same estimate. I was quoted $348.79 for the same service. I then revealed that I had just been charged $553.74 by their technician for the service. They claimed that the technician did not apply the best discount and immediately offered me a $120 refund. I pointed out that the difference between $553.74 and $348.79 is $204.95 and asked to be refunded this amount. The representative refused claiming that they would have to tack back on the $65 service call fee despite that there was no mention of a need to pay this in her quote just moments before.Now to the credit of A-Authentic Garage Door Service, they did fix the problem with my garage door. I have no complaint about the quality of the repair. However, they price ***** and engage in deceptive business practices.

I am not sure if the comment about the $39 service fee is intended to discredit my complaint by insinuating that my figures are not accurate or if it is intended to be an admission that I was overcharged on the service fee as well, but I can assure you that all of the figures in my initial complaint are accurate and documented on my receipts. So, I accepted the $120 refund but also complained to ***********************, which is where I got the referral for A-Authentic Garage Door Service. A representative for *********************** contacted me and agreed that I had been overcharged. They reached out to A-Authentic Garage Door Service and I was then given an additional refund of $84.95, which brought my total refund to $204.95 as I had initially requested based on their own pricing. So, I can say that A-Authentic Garage Door Service seems to practice price gouging and only does right by the customer when they are forced to by an outside party.

I picked this *** via ValuePac coupons. It does NOT save you any money to use their coupon. Their prices are ABOVE all the other garage door *** I called in my area. My Liftmaster ***** only included ONE remote for a 2 door garage. Other garage door companies states the unit includes TWO remotes for a double door PLUS INSTALLATION included in their price quote.A-A charged $709.95 for the Liftmaster ***** unit; EXTRA charges for labor installation $190, service call $65, lube $19.95, an angle steel rod $39.95, and shop supply fees? $46.12! Grand TOTAL $968.48. I received a senior discount of $102.49 or it would have been more $$$. They could not waive their service call fee because of my senior discount. I asked about the Liftmaster unit (8155-7) on their coupon for $429.00. *** told me this unit is as noisy as my old chain driven opener.I told *** and the office person about lower prices of the same unit from other garage door companies. They both said online pricing and their units are not the same??? Then, they charge extra fee for using a credit card!!!I wished I just paid for their service call fee and hired another more transparent garage door installer. I feel I was taken advantage of because I did need an updated opener.I would be satisfied if the company offered me a $200.00 refund. The highest price Liftmaster ***** installed and service call included is $750.00.
