If you are building a pool, stay far away from Shasta. Our experience has been HORRIBLE from the start. Our initial salesperson who designed the pool left or was fired, and no one took over nor knew the plan, which ended up in a ripple effect of poor work. We chose them because we were told they were the best, and they are FAR from it and I'm ****** we paid so much for a product we are unhappy with. We had no oversight at all to make sure the project was what we wanted. People came and went whenever they showed up, and no one seemed to know what was going on. Right now, we have the wrong color travertine installed, and the pebbletec has been messed up since they "installed" it. We told them about this pebbletec issue from the start and we have just been notified they will not fix it, even though it's under warranty. It's spotted and, in some parts, already coming off. It's not the blue they promised us. They blamed everyone else besides the people who installed it incorrectly, and the final part was blamed for "poor water chemistry" even though we have been using Shasta's pool cleaners. Stay far away if you want a smooth process and a pool that you are happy with.Review from James L

I signed my contract back in February of 2024 with the promise that our pool would be built by July. Here we are more than halfway through September, still with no end in sight. I am furious, not necessarily about the timeframe, but about the quality of workmanship. At this point we have paid close to 85k, and just need to submit the final payment. I would not mind paying the final payment - had every stage of this process gone smooth so far. However, it has been exactly opposite. Every time something is "complete," the quality is horrible and requires some sort of repair. At this point, I do not feel comfortable paying the final 10%, because I ALREADY anticipate my project not being complete (in addition to needing some sort of repair based on the workmanship so far). So here I am, like a sitting duck - waiting for repairs to be done, who knows when, and a pergola to be installed - with the materials being ordered incorrect (twice already). But Shasta wants my final 10% in order to lay the pebble and complete the pool. I am writing this "review" in hopes someone else can step in because obviously the individuals I'm working with can't tell me when repairs will be done but have my project on hold until I submit my final payment. Which I have told them - either (1) lay the pebble and I give you the money, or (2) repair my current issues and I give you the money. I can't give you the full 90+K without my project - when it's not complete now, and will not be complete even if I give you the money. Of course I am mad.Review from Joe L

In 2003 we moved to the Valley, bought a new home and visited Shasta pools to design and install our pool. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The features and options were awesome too. They quickly installed the pool, and honored the warranty for the first year or so, then sold/closed all their stores. When we needed Shasta to come out for warranty work on a leaf basket that failed and needed repair or replacement, it was a hot day, and rather than fix it, the technician told my wife that it wasn't necessary and we could do without it and he talked her into its removal. After several heated communications with Shasta executives, they were no longer welcome on our property. At this time I was remorseful for chosing Shasta to build our ************* bought the stores and supported the warranties at first, then only certain stores supported the warranty, than only one store in our region. Then without any notice, they sold all warranty work to Pentair. Weeks ago we visited the Shasta HQfor parts. The parts are there, but they can't/won't replace them. We immediately began a clim with ******* as directed. Our parts were to be here in 7-10 days. Weeks later, crickets... they said parts are on backorder. The parts are in every poolstore we visited. Although Shasta built a beautiful pool 20 years ago, as soon as it was paid for, we became ancient history. The pool may look great, but there is absolutely no support. Their lifetime warranty is not worth the paper it was written on. It was sold to a third party that doesn't want to honor it. Shasta Pools and Pentair are NOT the type of businesses that homeowners should enter greens with.We are still waiting in July heat for our warranted partsReview from Thomas M

Absolutely the worst experience ever! Worst communication I have ever experience with a contractor of any type. They removed our gate for the dig, tried to have us agree to a $7,000 change order (17% of total price), when we denied the additional amount, they left, did not replace the gate, gate blew away in the wind storm, hit the gas meter and broke. Still have zero communication with them so I am going to another company for our pool. Only Chose Shasta because of their "name" in the industry. HUGE Mistake!!! Stay away from this company!!! Horrible. Unprofessional. STAY AWAY!!! If it was possible to give them less than one star, I would give them negative stars!!!!!!!!Review from Michael K

Paid more money for lifetime warranty with pool purchase years ago. Scheduling repairs over the past few years have become increasingly more difficult. Called beginning of June for a cracked broken part which cause a huge leak leaving pool disabled. I reported issue to Shasta. They sent tech out to fix. **** came and went w/o communicating with me that he didn't have parts to complete repair even after I told him I would be home that day. I had to call office to find out details. Shasta said they are booked until the 24th of month. Meanwhile my pool is green and and nobody has been unable to swim. Office was condescending and unwilling to help. I had to cancel father's day party and my grandsons graduation party. Lost the month of June for use and am very sorry I made purchase. Working with Shasta has become more difficult now they have my money. Repair should have been completed by now but they said it's the busy time. Sounds like they need to hire more techs and tell customers what's happening. I asked for a supervisor to contact me and that never happened. Not worth the money I spent.Review from Patrick J

Absolute horrible customer ********************** experience with this company and fraudulent contracts. Upon signing up for the "Elite" service from this company I was promised (in writing) that my pool would be taken care of to an upper scale echelon better than the normal weekly services. After 5 weeks my pool was never chemically balanced, filters never cleaned, an the salt cell was never addressed. At $200 a month, this was a scam from the get go. I was told on 3 separate occasions that my pool would be taken care of by the supervisor, *****. Twice during phone calls I got the excuses of how busy they were, we are hiring new people, we will try and get you on the schedule. I would definitely not recommend this company for weekly pool maintenance as you are treated as a number and not as a customer. Judging by the reviews previously posted, I am not off base with this as their current 5 start rating sits at a 1.43....Review from Robert T

I really wish we would have done more research on Shasta Pools. Once things started going bad I looked on BBB and yelp and it was not good. Dont try calling the office because no one answers their phone. The excavation was delayed I was told I needed to have our gas meter removed on Friday so they can start work on Monday. That would be three days with no hot water or the ability to cook. They they did show up on Tuesday, just walked into my back yard no introduction but was told they would probably destroy the pavers on our new driveway and I told them no they are not but they just laughed and said they dont have to fix it. I never gave them permission to start but they did it anyway. They messed up our driveway, broke the gate, crushed an irrigation box, took a chunk out of our wall and severed the *** cable line. Plugged all their coolers phones in our outdoor outlets without asking. We went over our contract we signed with Shasta and they can damaged anything they want and dont have to fix a thing. Please avoid the $65,000 stress and headache and Do Not Hire Shasta Pools. They have the worst customer ********************** we have ever experienced. They may be worse than the California DMV.Review from Susan U

My husband and I contracted with Shasta to do a refurbishment of our existing ********** home pool and deck. Prior to signing the contract, we were told that the project would be started in late Sept or early October, 2022 and that it would take 6-7 weeks. The project was started on November 17th, 6 weeks late, and was finally completed in May, 2023, 6 months late! Most of the delays were caused by shoddy work that had to be redone: ******** wasn't even hooked up to the heater! -Only 4 of *************************** the drain cover, a safety hazard, so that the pool had to be drained again and refilled.-The deck surface was not applied and cured properly and as a result had discoloration so that some areas had to be redone.-Large globs of deck material were splattered on a table and the walls.-There were large gouges to our home stucco due to their not being careful with their equipment.-Our landscape lighting was not functional when they were done. It was like pulling teeth to get Shasta back out to fix these issues. ******** and ******, our contacts, were sometimes unresponsive, offered excuses and gave no indication that they were sorry or concerned about the issues and delays. Obviously, the project was not overseen properly, nor did a supervisor check to ensure that all had been done at the completion of the project. We had to be out of town during much of the time and had to bring all of these things to their attention after they initially said they had completed the project. We contracted with Shasta only because they had installed the pool originally. We would NEVER employ them again.Review from sam k

Avoid! In my experience. It was 16 months contract to swim (2 *******) The cost is Premium, and communication is basement (garbage) in my opinion and experience. Skilled employees are great as well as craftmanship however Shasta management communication, coordination and execution is the worst I have ever experienced. Sad generational destruction of a good company, again my opinion and experience. Avoid is my recommendation.
