Terrible business practices. Cancelled back in may and was still being charged. **************** threatened than hung up on me. Immediately went in person and the representative said I needed to pay for one month and was good to go no more charges. Now billing is showing up on my credit card again for over $300.I know of 3 other people that have this same issue and are banning together for lawsuit. If you have the same issue please reach out.Stay away from hereReview from Donovan C

I never write reviews, but my repeated negative experiences at this gym in ********** have left me no choice. It's not just poor service, but a consistent pattern that makes me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, leading me to wonder if my treatment is related to the color of my ******* first bad experience was two years ago when I visited ********** to see my mother. I requested a 3-day guest pass, which was given to me without issue. However, on the third day, after walking in with another customer and no one at the front desk, an employee stopped me and asked for my ID. When I showed my guest pass, he insisted it wasnt valid because I wasnt from the area, despite no issues the first two days. He refused to listen and demanded I pay or leave. I left feeling humiliated and unfairly ************ forward to today, and I returned to this gym, as it was the closest one, despite having purchased a 5-day pass from another location. I presented it to ****, the customer service **** but he didnt greet me and instead stared at the pass, asking where I got it. When I couldnt recall the exact location, he made a snide comment. He processed my information reluctantly and didnt offer any courtesy, unlike the friendly interactions I observed with other customers. These repeated experiences make me question if race plays a role in how Im treated here. The lack of basic courtesy, the tone, and the discomfort Ive felt each time are unacceptable. I live only a mile away, but I wont be returning. This gym's staff could benefit from cultural sensitivity training. Its disheartening to feel treated differently based on my appearance, and I hope management addresses this issue. Until then, I will take my business elsewhere.Review from HOLLY C

Two years ago I cancelled my membership. This time last year and again this year, I have received emails from them saying I have an upcoming fitness trainer appointment. I was concerned I was going to be charged even though I am not a member there. The manager, ****, said he would remove my email from their mailing list. He said that since I used to have regular appointments with training, the software system automatically fills in names (even though the trainer I saw and myself are not there any more). Last year, he said he had removed my information, and again this year when I got the emails again, he said my email was being removed. Clearly, since my conversation with him, I have not been removed and it feels like harassment. I do not recommend a membership with this organization. If they can't take your info out of their system (i.e. modify a software program), they will continue to harass you! This is NOT a good tactic to get people to come back!Review from Glenn T

Mountainside is a horrible company that is very anti-customer service oriented. I no longer live in the service area of this company and have contacted them multiple times attempting to cancel my membership. The company has made themselves extremely difficult to contact directly. They do not have corporate member services contact information in their app, on their website or any printed materials. When I finally found a phone number for their headquarters no one at their corporate offices answers the phone, responds to voicemails or returns phone calls. No one responds to email and when I finally reached a person at one of their clubs he is rude, trying to force me to come into one of their clubs in person so I can be intimidated into not cancelling my membership and overly inconvenienced when their is legislation that requires companies to make it as easy to cancel a service, membership or subscription as it was to join/begin. I now reside in ********** and cannot simply walk into one of their dirty run down clubs. I've made multiple requests over the past couple of weeks to cancel my membership and he refuses and no one else in charge even bothers to respond to customers.Review from Larry L

Mountain Fitness ******* has shown us exactly what terrible customer service looks like. We are deeply disappointed, especially given our situation as a military family. Despite repeated attempts to cancel our membership, they continued billing us without paying attention to our requests. We reached out multiple times to halt the charges, explaining our relocation and personal circumstances, yet our pleas fell on deaf ears. The worst part? Now, 1.5 years after we relocated, they are suddenly billing us again. It's beyond absurd--it's exploitative. This is not how you treat people, especially disabled veterans and their families who deserve understanding and respect--now billing threatened to send it to collections because the account for my daughter is getting close to when she would be 18.Their complete lack of compassion and professionalism is appalling, and their refusal to support veterans shows a blatant disregard for the very people who have served this country. After we moved my daughter went into the facility in person to cancel because we were moving, they said I had to do it because she was under age. I had already moved out of state and called. they said I needed to bring a letter to the office to cancel the membership. They have done everything to make this difficult and now threaten collections. Do yourself a favor: never sign up for services with Mountain Fitness *******. Their lack of integrity and customer support makes them a terrible choice for anyone seeking a genuine, trustworthy fitness experience. Stay away, or you could be dealing with unnecessary stress for years.Review from Mark K

After going to the ************* location (****************************************************************) for the past two years under an ************ membership, I went in today to transfer my membership under ******************. I was told by the front desk that the administrative persons were currently were on tour and I would have to wait or I could workout under a guest pass and would have to see them afterwards. I advised them I was in a time pinch and what the situation was so they could hopefully expedite the process. When i finished my workout there was only one administrative person working and was busy with a client. I waited by the desk to excuse myself to ask if I could get my ID and do whatever paperwork needed to be done next time but was never acknowledge. Finally i excused myself and was immediately met with a glare and an eye roll from the admin whom I would later find to be "GM ***** *****". She very rudely scolded me and told me she was with a client, which is why i excused myself and apologized to the client because I was in a time crunch and could not wait. I asked for my ID back and let her know that i felt like she was being very rude and unprofessional. She continued to argue that I was being rude at which I let her know I would take my business elsewhere. I followed up to ask her name so i could file a compliant at which she shouted to to the gym "GM ***** *****". I understand being understaffed and a bit stressed, but had she excused herself from the client to ask if i was helped it wouldn't have taken more than a minute. Instead she chose to ignore me, roll her eyes and snap at me when i excused myself into the conversation. This is your management!Review from Carol M

I had a discriminatory incident that occurred on 9/12/24 at this location. The manager ***** ***** has a history of prejudice against Latinas and racially profiled me in front of my 4 small daughters, threatening to call the police on me, even pushing me to cancel my membership. Corporate has been aware of her behavior and I cannot understand how she still has a management job?!! A quick ****** search will show that there are other complaints of her revoking memberships and being racist. This all happened because I brought up an incident of my child getting bullied/hit by another child. This child being her own daughter. I simply wanted to see if she was able to see camera footage, expressing concern about the safety of my child since her daughter had thrown a hard toy at my child's back and hurt her. Instead of receiving a professional and empathetic response, I was met with hostility. The manager not only dismissed my valid concerns but also threatened to have me escorted out (with my 4 small children) by the male in the front desk and, alarmingly, suggested that the police might be called. When I proceeded to tell her to call the police so that I could press charges and have the cameras looked over, she backed down. This reaction was not only unwarranted but also racially charged and deeply offensive. She even suggested that I don't speak English because "my voicemail is in Spanish" which is a complete and utter lie and even so, what does my native language have to do with anything? She then proceeded to ****** me and my children out but not before a team member cancelled my membership effective immediately. What kind of business treats a mother with her children like this? Simply for asking a question?? Nonetheless, what kind of person belittles and profiles someone based on their race/ethnical background. My daughters are Latina/Arabs and were constantly ostracized by her child But again, what can be expected with her mother as example?Review from Brent W

Unacceptable business practices!! What is the point of going to the gym to cancel a membership vs email? The manager would not send out a cancellation form via email to accommodate my schedule. I requested a cancellation via email and was refused. Did they think I would let it go and continue to be billed if I wasnt interested in staying at that gym? NO! This business practice needs to stop and should be illegal. They already get an extra month of membership fees out of a client when they cancel.Review from Rick L

I am not sure what others are complaining about. I have never been billed incorrectly and have always found the staff to be courteous and professional. During COVID they took great care to clean hourly and always made me feel safe!Review from Missy C
