I am writing to file a formal complaint against Scion Group, the parent company of ***************, regarding an unresolved debt of $274 that was wrongfully reported to credit agencies in 2022. This debt, originating from Ion Baton Rouge, was reported despite an ongoing case (Reference # SF09732446) with the company, which was still under review at the time.Ion Baton Rouge representatives, specifically ******* and ******, explicitly instructed me not to pay the outstanding balance until a decision had been made regarding my case. However, despite these clear instructions, the debt was inaccurately reported to credit agencies. This action is not only misleading but also demonstrates a lack of professionalism and organization within the company.Additionally, the staff members involved in my case are no longer employed by the company, further complicating and frustrating the situation. Nevertheless, I have maintained detailed records of my communications with Ion Baton Rouge, including phone call logs, emails, and photographs, all of which support my account and the promises made by their representatives. While the debt is not my responsibility, I have consistently attempted to resolve this matter. Since 2022, I have reached out to the debt collection agency, offering to settle the debt in exchange for the removal of the incorrect derogatory **** on my credit report. The mishandling of this case, the lack of accountability, and the ongoing inaccurate reporting to my credit have caused significant stress and inconvenience.I respectfully request that you thoroughly review this matter and assist in ensuring a swift resolution. I expect the immediate removal of any erroneous debt reports and prompt closure of this case without further complications.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

I paid about $1397 dollars to University House ***** as my rent in advance. However, due to personal reasons I had to cancel. I paid $200 out of my own pocket to cancel the lease and receive a reimbursement. It has almost been over a year and they still have not returned the rent in advance. Every time I call them they make excuses about why the cheque still has not reached me. Due to this I am not able to pay the rent in advance for my next place.

Hi, I need help with the building my son lives in who attends ***, *********************, called University House (UH). He has a lease for this year ending July '24. He decided not to renew for next school year so he can live elsewhere. Though he never signed a lease to renew, they have a lease with his digital signature on it. I told them it must be some kind of error, which can happen in this digital age. I asked them to remove the unauthorized lease from their system immediately, and my husband, *************************, the guarantor, was upset because he had no idea there was a new renewal lease with our son's signature. He felt that it cannot possibly be legal for there to be a new lease without him being notified, as the guarantor. (If he had been notified, he would have immediately called the property to tell them of the error.) But we had no chance to do that. This renewal lease did not even appear in our UH portal (we have portal access as the guarantor), and again, if it had been there we could have seen it and told the property asap that this was a mistake. (Attached is a screenshot of my UH portal, which shows only the current lease signed Feb '23)But the property isn't deleting the lease and is saying we're responsible for the rent for next year until **** can find a new tenant, and a $650 "termination" fee. I told them we won't be paying rent on an apt we did not renew, nor would we pay a fee to terminate a contract we never signed in the first place. The last email from UH said they were sending the situation to Fair Housing. I asked what that was, but they didn't answer. FYI, my son did click a link in the UH portal in the fall to "Request to Renew" lease (when he thought he wanted to renew). The property acknowledged that wasn't legally binding. They said the 2nd step had to occur, where he agrees to the terms, goes to the portal, under Documents, finds the lease and signs it. That second part never happened. I would like UH to delete the renewal lease. Thanks!!

In the leasing contract I signed with University House, I agreed to pay for rent from the dates May 13, 2022 to July 25, 2022. When I showed up to collect my keys and begin to move in on the 13th of May, I was turned away because they were waiting on their legal team to sign one last paper and was not allowed to move in until that paper was signed. I was still charged for that day of rent even though I did not move in until the next day. At move out (July 25th) I was charged for unjust damage done to the living area of the apartment done before I had even moved in to University House. When I tried to call to ask about these charges, they did not answer. I left a voicemail to which they never got back to me about. I sent an email, and did not receive any response. University House has been completely unprofessional and has breached our leasing agreement for charging me for an extra day of rent.

I applied for stay at the University house as a student and was denied stay due to having no co-guarantor. I was never shown a room or given a key and NOT ONCE given notice of the charges due. It was placed on my credit report 6 months after the situation.

In March, 2022, my daughter submitted an application and signed a lease to take over the lease for another person for an apartment to be available August 2022, however, she was told that she needed a guarantor so she gave my name. They called me weekly and send emails which I ignored so when I decided to agree to being the guarantor, I was told that someone else had taken over that lease and that it was no longer available because my daughter was a "no show" and that there was no other apartments available. At that point, my daughter found another apartment, and subsequently, was told that she showed in their system that she had an active lease and needed to obtain a "mutual termination". I went back to University House to request a "mutual termination form", I was told by ******* that even though someone else got the original apartment, the fact that she signed a lease, she is still responsible because her name is on a waiting list to backfill upcoming "no show" vacancies which I don't understand since she is one of those "no shows". When does the cycle stop? I get the impression that this place is scamming students and now we're stuck waiting to see if her apartment that she was planning to sublease from another leasee if going to be taken by someone else. Please help me to make sense of all of this. I am now waiting for a return call from the leasing manager - ************************* who is out until Monday, May 16, 2022.
