On December 10, 2023 a Bingham Restoration crew came to our home, after being called by a plumber repiping our home, due to a water leak. The project manager assured us they would eat any cost not covered by insurance. We allowed them to set up blowers. Before we knew it, walls were being cut out, tiles chipped up, all the while telling us our insurance would pay for all they were doing. They removed our kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanity to set up blowers. They wanted to dump out the drawers to those items. I told them not to dump out the drawers, but stack them on each other, and to put "everything" in a large storage trailer we borrowed. It was parked in front of our home. I fully expected to return our cabinets and vanity, with all the drawers, when the blowers were done. To our horror, the crew had dismantled our cabinets and vanity, leaving the drawers stacked on each other, the doors and hardware put in a pile, but took the boxes away. They did this without our consent, or our knowledge, and against our instructions. I called Bingham and they insisted our insurance would pay to rebuild and replace our cabinets and vanity. The claim was denied, They still insisted the insurance should pay, although nothing was ever wrong with the cabinets and vanity. I have tried for months, with many phone calls to get compensated for what was taken from us. The branch manager offered us $1000, for what their builder estimated at $4500 to replace. The higher ups know they owe us. Excessive damage was done to our home by the crew at approximately $6000. This company are predators who take advantage of people in crisis, and they do excessive damage, taking advantage of insurance companies. They need to be investigated, maybe even prosecuted. They have robbed us of our cabinets and vanity and refuse to make it right. The level of arrogance in this company is mind boggling. The answering service sticks to a script. There is no way to reach a person who can help you at Bingham.Business response

Many claims are being made that are not true. We have communicated with this client on multiple occasions. Our lawyer group is handling this situation, she has confirmed being in contact with them.Customer response

The response from Bingham Restoration is weak. They say that many claims I have made are not true. I invite them to specify. The multiple occasions of communication were by me contacting them, to get compensation for the cabinets and vanity their crew took from me and my husband. I called repeatedly to ask for a manager or an owner of the company who could help make this right. Avoidance is what we were met with. I have not been in contact with their lawyer group. I have been contacted by One Claim Solution, who told me they are a third party billing company, calling for Bingham. I told them we do not owe Bingham, they owe us. To the public: BEWARE! Do not let this company into your home. If you do, follow them, so they won’t take anything off your property without your authorization. Do not allow them to do anything in your home that is not pre-approved by your insurance company. Much unnecessary damage was done in our home, which we are seeking compensation for as well. We don’t want anyone else to go through what we have been through, with this company, and their tactics.Thank you.Initial Complaint

After a flood in my home on 9/24/22, Bingham Restoration was recommended by a plumber to address the water damage. Their initial bill was $47;814.62 and after negotiating the amount with my insurance company, they were paid $21,322.92. They are claiming that I still owe them $1308.58. After numerous discussions with their billing office and attempts to explain to them what payments were made and to who, since there was also a moving company and a construction company involved, they are still pursuing payment. They have turned it over to an attorney for collection and are now claiming I owe $19,182.20 and are threatening to take me to court.Customer response

On 09-06-23 I contacted Quality Drain to assist me with a water leak. They repaired on 09-06 and 09-08-24. They contacted Bingham.Michael Cota, from Bingham, called me (I did not call them)and inquire about my insurance.By the time he arrived,I was assured that they were in contact with my insurance company. I was told I didn’t need to contact them. Workers came, set up fans to be on 24 hours/day. They marked areas where they were going to tear out walls.Shortly after the process began, my Goddaughter came to assess the damage and informed me this is not normal protocol.I contacted my insurance company and had the adjuster out. I ceased actions from Bingham after the holiday weekend on 09-12-23. I asked Bingham to remove the fans on 09-12-23 and to stop work.Fans remained unplugged and unretrieved, in my hall until 09-27,The adjuster told me that the damage was estimated to be less than my deductible. She advised that I get someone to repair the drywall and be done (no claim). This is what I indeed did (while also having the tile repaired that was pulled away by Bingham).Fast forward- 01- 2024. I had no idea that Bingham filed a claim with State Farm.I am now receiving final notice e-mails from another company affiliated with Bingham, called One Claim Solution(blanket e-mails-no itemized descriptions).I never received an estimate from Bingham, nor had I ever received an invoice via e-mail or postal mail.Only e-mail were from One Claim“4TH NOTICE” demanding $3,378.90 ++ (bill not itemized and didn’t make sense).I now have an itemized bill provided by Ehmke Law,PLC with many fraudulent charges to total $10,031.46 (include services not rendered, emergency service call-never happened, after hour charges-no idea),with 22 days charges on fans that they would not come pick up.The actions of this company are predatory.I am 81 years old.I am not fairing well with the barrage of e-mails, threats, and intimidation. I would like an honest and reasonable bill provided by Bingham.Business response

Bingham Restoration came out with strong built during a water heater leak in my laundry room. What was initially a $500 repair to remove the recirc pump ended with my Laundry room being demolished and lost time and wages from work. The room is still demolished til this day. The manager of Bingham assured me that it was needed and unsafe and that they would file the claim and not to contact the insurance company as he would do all that and all would be covered. When I called the insurance company , they said they never received anything and so I filed a separate claim that was denied due to Binghams lack of followup. This was in september of 2023. Til this day, the room has not been completed. The room left the area exposed to vermin that I had to pay for remediation and have been working on competing the room on my own. so that I can access my washer and dryer. The waterheater is still sitting on the temporary sub flooring . During the process I have realized that they destroyed and disposed of my lower cabinets which had no contact nor water damage. I was assured there was no cost even when I objected he said it would all be taken care of. When I asked them to stop they would show up to the property at random time to do the work until I locked my gate and got a gun for protection. Bingham was brought in by Strongbuilt whom I am in the process of suing for this ordeal and am planning on adding Bingham to the claim but I have not been able to follow up due to being deployed and then relocated to Phoenix. the room was torn apart and no further information was ever discussed after the initial demolition that was done late at night without the consideration that I had work at 4 in the morning. I took 2 weeks off from work in order to get it resolved but never heard anything from anyone. No one so much as discussed a cost and when I initially objected to them coming in they said it needed to be done and would be covered by insurance. I filed a claim with insurance and it was denied since there was also no follow up from Bingham. I assumed I was stuck with a demolished laundry room and that was that until receiving a call from a collection lawyer yesterday. I have not returned the correspondence and they never gave me any paperwork to sign nor an estimate. I did not want what was done to my home to happen and if I was given the option, I would have gone with a service that I was familiar with like servpro but it seemed like this was a scam in cahoots with strongbuilt . I am now reaching out to an investigator as I have read the other complaints that occurred in September that resemble the same scam.Business response

Beau Bingham, the owner of Bingham Restoration came to my home when a plumber called them. He was there about 1/2 hour and said my kitchen needed "demolition" I said I wanted a second opinion and my home insurance company sent someone that said that was not true. I was charged $3000 for the dehumidifier that was left by Bingham. I informed Mr. Bingham that I had to unpllug it the same day because it was too loud/bothered my dog. He turned me over to a lawyer for collections.Business response

Bingham Restoration was recommended to me through a plumber that came to my house after a water leak was discovered. Michael Cota the manager of Bingham assured me that he would help me with my claim and not to contact the insurance company as he would do all that. He showed up on 9/11 at 5pm and the last day Bingham Restoration was at my house was 9/27 at 6.02pm. They spent 17 days coming and going, monitoring the moisture in the guest bathroom, putting up fans and demoing the vanity in my guest bathroom and removing it leaving behind the counter and sink. I was never informed that they were going to demo anything. I have ring doorbell picture evidence of days and times they came. I repeatedly called Michael Cota to no avail. He never once called me back. I have records of attempted phone calls made. Every evening I would speak to the workers and they promised they would call Michael and he would call back. It didn’t happened. I was with Travelers insurance at the time and was given $10,427.30 and now I receive an email from Kenan Petrash who is a Sr. Property Claims Resolution person saying that I need to pay $5368.88 to Bingham Restoration for work that they took 17 days to complete which should’ve taken, in the words of Mr. Petrash, “ Their dry logs and invoicing for 2+ weeks of drying suggest that they did not do a very good job at drying the home.” Even he questioned Bingham, again in his own words, “ Your estimate perplexes me: the initial response was 9/11 but the asbestos tests were not received by the testing company until 9/18. What’s up? Why did it take this long to get the testing done? My revised estimate accounts for the reasonable and necessary work to dry out the home but does not account for dropping equipment at a home and failing to begin demo 1.5 weeks later on an Asbestos-negative home. I doubt the homeowner appreciate the long dry out process either.” Please advise and help. They are asking for more than half the insurance check I receivedCustomer response

In February I had a leak in my house, I called plumber that morning. Plumber advised me that I would need restoration company to take care of the possible mold and the plumber called Bingham. Bingham employee came later that day, affirmed me that insurance will pay and helped me to file insurance complaint. Then, they installed their fans, removed the flooring from 2nd floor bathroom and after 7-8 days removed the equipment. The insurance denied the claim. My primary concern arises from the subsequent billing I received from Bingham Restoration, which amounted to an exorbitant $8,000. Upon reviewing the invoice in detail, I discovered several discrepancies and unjustified charges. Notably, charges for after-hours work were included without any prior notification or agreement. I find it unjust and misleading that these charges were levied without proper communication or consent. Additionally, during the restoration process, my cabinets were inadvertently damaged by Bingham Restoration's personnel. Despite this mishap being their responsibility. The situation further escalated when I attempted to engage in a negotiation with "oneclaim solutions," the intermediary representing Bingham Restoration. I expressed my disagreement with the inflated invoice and my willingness to arrive at a reasonable resolution. To my dismay, I was informed that negotiations had already taken place with my insurance company, resulting in a revised initial amount of $11,000. This negotiation occurred without my involvement or consent, leaving me no room for input or negotiation. They don't want to negotiate, don't want to pay for the broken cabinets. Bingham Restoration and its representatives demonstrate a lack of consideration for their customers' rights and concerns. The intentional inflation of the invoice, coupled with the absence of transparency regarding billing practices.Business response

I received a $3k estimate for work to be performed. At that time, I had intended to pay, before work started I engaged my insurance and i informed Bingham of insurance involvement. Bingham crew came in and began. From that point, I have not heard from Bingham in regard to any changes, price increase, updates, etc. I reached out once to the person who was my contact to inform him my insurance wanted pictures. The insurance was denied. I figured I would pay, that was my intent from the beginning. I never received a call, a text, an email any communication from Bingham. Then I get a bill for $17K! How can a $3k estimate go to $17k without ever contacting the customer!! I believe Bingham fraudulently increased their cost so that my insurance would pay out more. Now that insurances is denied, they want me to pay for something that was never even discussed with me. I will be filing a fraud compliant with the AZ Attorney General. I received the highest estimate of $5200, from other companies, Bingham stated, "they would beat any estimate". I understand an estimate is just that, an estimate of cost, but either they have a really bad estimator or they are not being truthful. Either way, I as the customer deserve to be notified and should have been notified cost were increasing. No reputable business leaves a customer without communication on cost increases. I expected differences in cost, but not a $14,000 difference. This is not acceptable and this business needs to be reviewed on the practices they have of estimates, cost and communicating with customers.Business response

My condo experienced a water heater leak 11/1/22. I am dealing with cancer, had just been released from the hospital, and arrived at my condo with my mom (who's caretaking during my cancer) to assess the situation. Bingham Restoration was called by my plumber to take care of the excess water in my unit and check for mold. They had me sign a document to begin removing excess water. They instructed me to list Water Mitigation on the form, but assured me that they would be dealing directly with insurance for all expenses and NOT TO WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING - they said this was standard protocol. in the ongoing days, I tried repeatedly to get information from Bingham on what was being going on in my condo, but was told they were handling everything with ***********. Since I am going through Chemo, my mom called ***********, as we were uncomfortable with the lack of communication from Bingham. My mom relayed her concerns to the Claims Specialist at ***********, who said he was experiencing the same lack of communication. After several weeks, *********** received an outrageous invoice for $41,366.53, which they knew was an unjustified amount, and called to let me know. *********** knew that Bingham had never conferred with me, as I would have never authorized $41,366.53 to be spent on a policy that only covers $24,000 for Coverage A. *********** determined the amount they owed Bingham was $11,730.37 for Mitigation. Bingham wants someone to pay the rest = $29,636.22, and wanted the name of my HOA and their insurance company, which I gave them. They also threatened that if HOA does not pay, that I will have to pay this amount! The HOA was appalled at what Bingham did, and welcomed them to call, even though they are not responsible for anything. Bingham never communicated with me so that I could say NO to any unacceptable expenses, especially in excess of insurance coverage. Further, I DID NOT give Bingham the authority to spend excessive money above my insurance limits.Business response

I had some mold damage on my bathroom walls so I contacted USAA insurance to find a contractor to remediate the problem. They referred me to Abracadabra Restoration Inc. but they did not come out right away and when they did come out that company did not do anything except take a moisture reading and said that they will come back in a month. Because of that I found another company Bingham restoration which I found on Google and they put fans down right away to help dry it out. After that I called to cancel the service from Abracadabra Restoration Inc. because they did not do anything. The next day I got a call from my insurance and they told me the claim was denied because of neglect. Abracadabra restoration told them that I neglected the mold damage so I got denied. That caused me to tell Bingham restoration that my insurance was denied and to give me a quote. They gave me a quote of $2,550 and I had to pay them half up front to do the work on the wall. Bingham worked on my walls and two weeks later I called USAA and asked them to send an insurance adjustor out as I told them Abracadabra Restoration did not do anything other than a moisture reading and told me they will be back in a month and I told them to cancel the payment to them as well. Randy from USAA came out and did the inspection later on and the denied insurance claim became a approved. I called Bingham about that and told that the insurance was approved. **** fromo Bingham then told me after the insurance was approved and they were paid I would get back my $1275. I still have not got back my $1275 and called **** in the second week of June and he said that my insurance had not paid them yet. I called my insurance on June 21 and they told me that the check was sent out on April 23 2022 and it cleared on April 29 2022. I believe **** was not honest about that as Bingham already got their money. As of today I still have not got my money back as they have been holding on the money since February 2022.Business response
