***** was supposed to do a follow up home inspection on a new construction home for my clients. There was a mixup with the builder and ***** was told he needed to come back another time. After ***** and I discussed the is***, he became difficult to get in touch with to reschedule - vacation, family matter, etc. My clients asked to have their $300 refunded that they had paid up front, and ***** became defensive and combative, threatening to *** me and inflating the story to sound like he was threatened by the builder in some way (which was never relayed to me during our initial conversations). So my clients are out $300, never got a home inspection report - which they would have settled for an incomplete report - and ***** is refusing to complete the inspection or refund the clients. I won't be using his services again as this behavior shows that referring him to my clients will make me look bad and impact my reputation as a Realtor.

On Point Home Inspections, LLC Response

We had a last minute final phase inspection scheduled with ***** (the buyers agent) on January 23. We were on site and at work bright and early, when nearing completion we were approached buy the onsite construction manager who stated "***** didn't make arrangements with him to conduct a third party inspection" he also stated that "without approval I was trespassing and had to leave the property along with deleting any photos and details pertaining to the home from the report." after leaving the property I called, Text and emailed ***** in hopes that she could call the builder and quickly get approval so we could finish. I had no response from ***** at that time. When ***** did return my call I explained everything and she stated that it was a miscommunication with her and the builder. She asked when I would be able to return to reinspect the home. I told her i was booked that week and a reinspection would come with a reinspection fee (typically paid by the builder or agent responsible for the delay). ***** then became upset demanding I go back and reinspect the home in the current state for free or give a refund for the original inspection. I told her that i could not give a refund as this was not a result of something we did and we did show up onsite and complete 90% of the inspection, which did take up our full inspection time slot. ***** was told the full story up front and the story never grew as she states. after sending all communications (email, texts and voicemails) to *****'s broker, I was told I was 100% in the right and she should know that any reinspection comes with a reinspection fee unless the rescheduled appointment was the result of the inspection company (which was not the case) and that ***************** get some coaching to properly set expectations with her buyers and clients. We never refused to complete the reinspection, we jus stated it would had a fee to reschedule which ***** refused. We also called more than a dozen home inspection companies in ****** explaining the situation and how they would handle it. All of them confirmed that they would not complete a reinspection without a reinspection fee as it was a miscommunication with ***** and the builder. I also want to add that after completing nearly 9000 inspections this is the only complaint we have had.
