We placed an order for new kitchen countertops from blocktops. We paid $6,000 to get new kitchen counters. On the day of install, the contractors ***** and ***** told us they measured incorrectly therefore they didnt have the correct pieces to finish the job. They left without finishing the job, and the company has ghosted us since then. They will not return our calls or emails. Its been almost a week and we are left with an incomplete kitchen, raw wood exposed and air coming in through the window supports where the countertop is suppose to go. They stole money from us! We spent $6000 and ended up with an unfinished kitchen. We need help

Customer ***** purchased their countertops from *************** ************* Store. Block Tops is contracted to fabricate and install countertops for THD. After receiving the purchase order from THD, Block Tops scheduled a template appointment for 3/13 and tentative install date of 3/26. Customers sink was not available for 3/13 template so dates were changed to 3/15 and 3/28. Template was over existing countertops and customer wanted windowsill and counters at same height (existing windowsill was a step up). Template was made to reflect the customers desire and tops were fabricated to be one piece with the sill. On installation day after demolition of existing tops, windowsill framework was found to be a step up and a one piece countertop/windowsill was not able to be installed. This was unfortunate but when templating over existing countertops, discovery of any site related issues can be very limited.  The planned windowsill had to be cut off the countertop to provide for installation of the top and was wasted material. A separate windowsill, with built up edge lamination was required to be cut and fabricated at the ******* facility to complete the installation. This required another 3 1/2 sf of material and edge lamination labor,(**********s retail for just the material charge would have been $91.20 per sf - $319.20 total plus lamination labor, and return trip charge), which was provided at no additional charge to the customer. ********************** office staff emailed customer with a tentative install date for the windowsill of 3/5. Customer responded that they would not be at the property until 3/12 so Block Tops office staff adjusted the windowsill installation date to 3/12.

Block Tops office staff has updated THD store management of the issue and the no additional charge for the additional laminated windowsill and installation. The ********** has the new installation date in their system.

We contracted for three counter tops to be installed one long one assembled in two pieces and two corner pieces. We received an email days before the scheduled installation telling us they needed to put seams in the corner pieces. I said that was unacceptable we had agreed upon pre inspection and template assembly there would be only one seam in the long piece. They then told me that for 500 more dollars they could do it. That is a dishonest tactic in my opinion. Then after stating I didn't agree he came back saying they actually would do it and absorb the cost and complete the project on time. I then heard nothing again on the day of install. At that time I asked for a refund. At this moment I am getting the run around. I just want the refund so I can finish this project had they adhered to the contract I would've been able to finish my kitchen before christmas. The experience has been horrible to say the least.

Sorry we didnt receive the inquiry with time to respond through the holidays. Customer ***** was upset that her job required seams after template because of the material selected. Customer Stoba did not want to proceed with the job and the order was cancelled and a full refund issued on 12/15.

Company came in just fine and tore up the kitchen as expected. Not expected : they made an incredible mess and WE had to clean it up.Debris everywhere. That wasn't so bad, but what did happen .... Debris got into water line leading to my dishwasher. (why they unplugged it in the first place was wrong, but they didn't cover the line causing my dishwasher to break after they plugged everything back in. Had to call appliance person to fix. now they don't answer my calls so here we are. I just wanted them to pay for the damage they caused (sub contractor plumbing company) and all would be good. but now nobody returns my calls.

6/15/2023 I received a voicemail from **** *********** Office) wherein she explained she booked me for a measurement the following day, less than 24 hours notice. I returned **** call and informed her I did not accept the day and time. **** informed me I would be charged a cancellation fee because I cancelled the appointment she setup, without my approval, and time is money.I cancelled my order with Block Top and am disputing their charge: appointment cancellation fee.
