I bought a car from them a year ago, and within 3 weeks the check engine light came on. I had it checked out by a mechanic in Washington state and they said everything was "fine". It was guzzling oil and smelled terrible. After several more months, I had three separate mechanics check out the car and I now have estimates ranging from $3,000 to $18,000 worth of repairs. I've been offered between $500 and $2,000 for the car as a trade-in. I am so very sorry I bought this car, but I am now in a terrible financial situation because of it. Just another crooked small dealership.

    Kars Now Response

Our response is that the car she bought was a very nice car at the point of purchase with approximately 17 services recorded on the Carfax. The Subaru shows that it was certified at 48k miles by the Subaru dealer in Redwood City which indicates that a comprehensive inspection and repairs were done then. It shows the 60K mile service was done at Morin Brothers in Sn Luis Obispo and that many fluids, filters were replaced and/or flushed with a new battery and spark plugs installed in 2015. It shows the passenger airbag being replaced under factory recall at Rancho Grande Motors in 2017. There continues to be many oil changes and routine services performed at Morin Brothers,Rizzoli's and Rancho Grande Motors. In 2020, the battery is replaced again, radiator hose/hoses are replaced,PCV valve changed and an axle(s)replaced or repaired. In 2021, a major service was done by Rizzoli's Auto which included replacing many fluids, wipers, and the water pump. In Sept 2022,Kars Now smogged the car at West Coast Auro for sale and had a safety inspection performed by America West Tires. America West replaced the air filter, the wipers, checked the lights, brakes, tires and driveability and changed the oil filter and fluid. We sold the car to Jill Tremblay on 9/26/2022 with a 30 day/1000 mile warranty that included the engine,transmission/transaxle,cooling/heater system,alternator/starter,braking system, seatbelts, front and rear suspension, catalytic converter, and more. This is a very comprehensive warranty that's designed to protect our customers from any surprises after sale. In her complaint, Ms. T******* says that she took it to her independent mechanic 3 weeks after purchase and that he found no issues. That makes sense to us because of the extensive service history on the car and our recent service. Her complaint with you states that a year later she is disappointed in the car. It's actually filed 15 mos after the purchase. We don't guarantee the car after the first 30 days or 1000 miles. We're sorry for her problems and her disappointment. She calls us "crooked". We're not. Nothing in what she says indicates illegal or criminal conduct by Kars Now. Her choice of language is libelous. We sold a good car and she's never contacted us about her complaints. We have been open for over 26 years without having this kind of complaint by selling good cars and taking care of our customers.
