Took my car to German Dreams, spoke to manager **** and he reassured me that they would find the prob and fix my car. Car was towed on 8/14/23, I told **** my car had the fuel system, timing belt, and water pump replaced by my mechanic. VW initially told me repairs were needed due to contamination in fuel system. On 8/16 **** calls me to ok timing belt work to be done as it was off by a lil bit I okd the work. On 8/18 car still not running **** calls he needs to diagnose the car again I okd it. On 8/23 SR mechanic calls me as asked what had prev mechanic done i let him know. **** called me back and I okd another $500 in repairs. **** calls recommends engine drive belt and struts I declined the work since it had nothing to do with the initial starting issue. At this point I am $1500 dollars invested and car still not running. My wife called **** and asked if he knew someone that would buy my car as-is he said yes, the owner may be interested make him an offer. I went in next day had the pink slip, made an offer of $4500 owner said no and was rude about it. I spoke to **** and told him I have not been spoken to like that or have felt disrespected in such manner. I told ********** was going to have my car towed back to VW for another diagnostic since they were not able to get my car running. I paid my bill and had my car towed out of there. On 9/5 VW called it was the timing belt and that they were not comfortable doing the work since the car sounded bad. At this point I had my car towed home. I called **** and let him know what VW said, I didnt appreciate needing to pay for something they fixed, the rudeness from the owner, and that if they couldnt fix my car they should have been honest. **** said let me see what I can do ****. I never heard back from them. Im asking for half my money back for their dishonesty if it was beyond repairs they should have been honest about it. I filed this complaint so one else goes through this. I uploaded my invoice I paid in full

I took my **** Porsche Boxster to this repair shop to have two cam position sensors replaced and both CV boots replaced. The initial amount included $174.00 diagnostic tests. By the end of day one I learned that they had removed the head gasket to check a relay for the passenger side sensor. I was informed that the oil leak was a hose and I approved the replacement of the hoses and oil separator. It was another $1000.00. I reluctantly agreed to the grand total of $4000.00 for the replacement of two sensors and the CV boots and oil separator and hoses. I had all the parts as i was originally going to do it myself. They wouldnt use my new parts because they couldnt warranty them. 3 yrs ***** miles. I was ok with it just get it done. A week later I asked if I could come pay my balance and pick up my car prior to my birthday this weekend. I was told it was in pieces and they wouldnt commit to when I could come get my car. Nothing I approved or was expecting to be done had even been started. I instead got a invoice with a total of over $8000 dollars in repairs. They took everything off leaving me a balance of $79. Due. That included the $1000 dollars I had prepaid them. So what I got for $1079.00 was nothing but a complete diagnostic test of my 20 year old car. I was shocked and felt scammed. I work hard for my money and I dont like wasting it. I still have no car and no answer for when I can come get it.

************************* sent his Porsche Boxster for a check light related to 2 camshaft codes and axle boot replacements he wished to receive a quote for.  The Porsche was found to have codes in multiple systems requiring separate diagnostics for the separate issues. He was quoted for testing of the camshaft codes, testing of evap codes,  testing of multiple secondary air codes, along with the price to repair the axle boots and  a failed oil separator that was found on the initial inspection. **************** approved said work so the technician was able to start on the next stage of the process.   Shop policy is to do all the diagnostics before doing any unrelated repairs so if there are more issues found they can be addressed in as timely a manner as possible.Secondary air codes were found to have multiple pieces disconnected all of which were repaired under the diagnostic time.  The evap testing found a large fuel leak that is a safety issue that would need to be addressed.  Lastly testing of the customers camshaft sensors came back that the *** had failed internally causing power to blead down lines causing incorrect readings and the codes **************** was trying to rectify.  Had we just replaced the sensors and not done the diagnostics first we would have had more time and money invested in the vehicle and this is why we always test before replacing parts.  Once the tech was done with the diagnostics he stopped and quoted what it would take to fully repair the vehicle.  At this time **************** had decided not to move forward with what it would take to repair the car. We offered not to perform the other already authorized  jobs as the car is not safe to drive and those repairs may not have represented  value to **************** after learning of the other issues. My team stayed professional and courteous to **************** and tried to advise him to the best of his ability even as the relationship grew strained.  We told him if he didnt want to continue,we would need to reassemble the vehicle and it would be ready the next day.  He then told our service advisor he would be in at 8am to pick it up in which case our advisor told him it wouldnt be ready that fast and we would call him when it was ready.  The vehicle was finished assembled the next morning and he was Texted the vehicle was ready for pick up at 10:50am on 8/16/23

I am rejecting this response because:

They should have told me that was their policy from the very beginning. Not after I filed a complaint. I was/am quite aware of all the codes my faulty computer was putting out.  I asked for three things and they didnt do anything I asked for. I in turn was handed a bill for $1070.00 which wouldve covered my boot replacements. Consequently I have to find another shop that will do what I ask. Not what they want.  I will not recommend this shop to anyone. I will make sure that every person I meet knows how crappy they are.
