On August 8th 2024 I entered into a contract with Inkwell Book Writer for their premium publishing plan and for their author website package for which I paid $1,899.00 and $1299.00 at the same time. I was given a project manager who was unavailable within the first two weeks of service. Then I was told my project manager had an emergency and was given a second project manager within the first three weeks of services. I had to keep calling or e-mailing him to find out anything about my project. I was then given a third project manager in September 2024, ****. **** showed me my website mock up only. I never saw my final product and I never heard from **** again. Finally, I was given a fourth project manager, **** who only asked for more money and I had to contact her by email and finally by phone and leave messages for her to get back to me. I have not heard from anyone at Inkwell Book writer since Oct. 2024 when my 4th project manager, ****. On October 11th **** called me stating they could not do anything further unless my book was officially copywritten and I paid another $1,080.00 for an official copywrite by the *******************. I have not heard from anyone since. I paid out to Inkwell Book Writer a total of $4278.00 without knowing if any services have been rendered by them at all. I requested a full refund twice in writing to Inkwell Book Writer via email and via their website and I have not heard anything back from anyone at Inkwell Book Writer since my final payment to them on Oct. 11th 2024. I would like assistance with getting a full refund and would like to file a formal complaint about this company with the California BBB. I have attacked a copy of my signed contract and a copy of my refund request email letter for your review. Thank you Sincerely for your assistance in obtaining a refund as well as with filing this complaint.**** ********

Two transactions:#1- Signed a Marketing Contract for $11,543 for them to Market my children's book, The Busy Basset, according to an extensive outline they provided. The majority of steps were not done at all. Three were started but not completed. No one item was 100% done according to the contract. I paid these with a credit card in two payments. Nothing was delivered on this part.#2-Signed a Royalty deal for the same book. I paid $14 ,487 as a wire transfer to a ********************, which I was told today at *************** that it is an active account, but they couldn't give me any other detail. This was for printing costs, and the Royalties back to me per the Contract were $21,874.96. I was paid some Royalties, however, the balance due is $14,729.22. This company checks all the boxes for a decent vetting on-line, however, upon further investigation, I have learned that the California address is wrong. They do not occupy that space. They are also not an LLC with the State of **********. They also provided a Skokie, IL address, and same result. They don't rent space there. I wired the money to ***********, and can't seem to find them either, though there is that BofA acct #. I was passed around ********************** w/lots of excuses and eventually they stopped responding at all, but if I call from a different number, I can connect sometimes. I have other data, and I am going to continue to pursue this. My next step is to subpoena records from *************** for the details of the wire account. If you need additional information, please reach out to me. I would like to get a proper address to send a Demand letter to before going to court, so if you find one, please call me. Thank you for your time and help with this. It is my hope that they can be found out and dealt with legally and that I can get my money back. I do have some documents but they are large, so if those are helpful, please lmk and I can upload them to you. ******

Inkwell book writer & Publisher seems to be a business, but during my research has two business addresses. One in ********** and one in ****. Im not sure which is the scam. As an author, I thought I was hiring a publishing company that repeatedly kept asking me for more money to produce books to fill request. After $11,000 Id ask for them to show me in writing how many books have been sold. Thats when all communication has stopped. When I went online and check reviews, thats when I realize that I am not the only person who was scammed. It appears that they are not a publishing nor distribution company as they stated and has taken thousands of dollars for me and others. Why they have not been shut down is beyond me or I think they keep moving locations.

Date offense occurred: January 20, 2024 Better Business Bureau ************************************************ Subject: Complaint Against Inkwell BookWriter for Breach of Contract and ************ Dear BBB,I am filing a complaint against Inkwell BookWriter for not fulfilling their contractual obligations after I purchased their Extensive Publication Package for $1,040.The package included publishing my book on multiple platforms (Amazon, Kindle, *************************, etc.), audiobook creation, unlimited revisions, and promotion.
