Tow truck driver tried to bait and switch me. Tried to tell me 140 dollars needed extra money to drop the car

    Business response

    04/09/2024

We do not bait and switch, each call price is given upon arrival and signed off on after drop. If the customer does not agree with the price we will not hook up the vehicle and process a tow.

I am rejecting this response because:
I used my usual coverage to call this service. They dispatched you. Your driver didnt mention any fee until we arrived at the location. This is 100% bait and switch and Id love to continue fighting this if you so choose. I have recordings lol
    Sincerely,

On 7/5, I contacted my insurance carrier because I needed roadside assistance, specifically a tow. State Farm advised that since I had recently put my vehicle on my policy, I would have to pay out of pocket for a tow. I agreed and proceeded to pay for a tow arranged by State Farm. I provided my insurance with the address to my mechanic and paid $275 for the tow. A few hours later, I received a call from the tow driver advising that he would arrive in 45 minutes and asked that someone meet him with the keys. When he arrive to my vehicle, he called me to ask why my truck didn't turn on and scolded me for not knowing the reason. He then towed my car to the mechanic, where he proceeded to get into a verbal dispute with my mechanic. The driver falsely claimed that my mechanic declined to accept my car and told me to call dispatch to authorize the drop off. I called dispatch to no avail. Tow driver then told me he needed to speak to my insurance co, I called state farm and conferenced a call with them and the driver, he still refused to go back and drop off my car. He waited around over 2 hours refusing to drop off my car and then advised me that it was 5 so he would be taking my truck to storage and I would be responsible for the fees. He purposely stalled the delivery of . on 7/6 I get a call from a mechanic at Pazi Automotive advising that he had attempted to do repairs on my car. I neither authorized nor had knowledge of any repairs so I was quite stunned to hear the news. Mechanic told me Bendave towing did me a "favor" by having him do repairs on the car. Absolutely wrong on their part, they mishandle my property and I don't know what further damages were caused to my car. Next the tow manager called at 4:00 pm demanding that I pay him $325 for storage fees and then he would provide me with the company name and address. Threated to put a lien on my truck if I did not pay him by 5 pm that day. I was unable to pay that day. 7/7, charged $350 for storage fees.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/08/17) */ The vehicle was delivered to the address customer had marked through her roadside. The shop she insisted on taking denied the vehicle. Driver notified her the shop is denying car and asked her where she wants to take the car. She stated to wait on scene which we notified we cannot do more than 20 minutes as we have other calls to reach to. She than asked to take to her uncles shop. Her uncle denied taking the car in to his shop as well. She stopped answering her phone which than the driver towed vehicle back to storage, notified her and stated for her roadside to schedule another tow out to the shop she has found. Her roadside that we are contracted through, stated she has no coverage and will need to pay out of pocket. Customer requested tow to another shop and didn't want to make payment. We advised her to send another tow company to grab vehicle as she kept threating to sue us when her provider refused to assist her after the difficulty she was giving. Driver notified her that storage charges will be applied and additional tow as addresses keep changing. We have pictures of the car at delivery address she had marked showing driver did show up. No one inspected her car or offered her to repair anything. Later her brother made payment to get car released and had a tow company pick up her vehicle from our yard.
