I have been a customer of ************************** for ********* have received the poorest service. I have been trying to get my Kenmore icemaker fixed by ***** since 10/2024. I have had 8 service technicians come to my home and 2 no-shows. Today (2/7/25), I called 1st American to find out the status. I last called on 2/3/25 and I was informed by ****** that ***** could not find parts to fix the ice maker. But, ******* still sells the same refrigerator on the market and there are no recalls on this make/or model. I was assigned to TE-******* ********, as the service contact for order #. I received a call from ******* on 1/16/24. Stating that my ice maker was repaired by *******#. That morning the part was replaced but by the afternoon the icemaker still did not work. I called and left a message for ******* on his vm and informed him that the ice maker still did not work. ******* closed out my case. I left several messages on ********* ** that the ice make still does not work. I also, called another service representative and informed them that the ice maker still does not work. I left mess for ************ did not return my calls. I was informed he closed the case. I had to reopen the case again and this is case#***. First American never informed me that they could not find the parts or give me a status. I called First American again today & I finally spoke with *******. He tells me today that when you leave a message he does not get his messages. I asked him, why does his vm state to leave a message and why does he give an extension if you can't check your vms. I have requested a refund from First American since 12/2024 due to non performance and I had to take off from work for all repair visits and no shows. I have been lied to by ******* ********, ******, ***** ***** (supervisor) and no return call from the manager *******(all employed by First American). Ive been using First American since Jan 2019. In May of this year, I had some issues with my ** that was ***laced by the company in 2019. After having our maintenance in April, it stopped cooling two weeks later. I called our ** tech and he informed us that the filter dryer (attached to the condenser) was the original ** part and it should have been ***laced when the ** was ***laced because filter dryers are included when buying new **'s. I called First American and spoke to ******. She explained ** filters aren't covered under the plan. I explained multiple times that the part was not an ** filter. Also, the condenser and the handler were dated in different years but installed on the same day and neither parts were registered for a warranty. The *** continued telling me air filters aren't covered. I asked to speak to a manager and she said no one was available. Without any resolution, I decided to have the issue ***laced by my ** tech. I submitted a claim in writing to explain what was ***laced and why. After many months of follow up there was no resolution. I decided to cancel my policy in Dec and Brieyell, looked up my issue and explained that my claim would be pushed through to the cash out department. After two weeks I was told my claim would not be covered. I canceled my policy and asked for a refund for my Dec payment and they would not approve it. I put a claim with my bank for a refund. We also needed our water heater ***laced and the ***airman they sent out wanted to charge us $945 even when my policy has coverage up to $1500. We were told $945 was supposed to be for non-covered charges calling it modifications. I asked for a printout and they were charging for parts with extremely high prices. Basically they were charging us the difference so they could make more money. We cashed out and didn't have enough money to buy a new water heater. This company doesn't like ***airing major issues. I would not recommend this company to anyone wanting service.Review from Kevin C

First American home warranty is trash, I would never get them again. There are much better options out there. When I canceled my policy they were going to charge me a pro rated fee for cancelation so I just let the policy run out. Good riddance!!!!First American Home Warranty Response

I have been with First American Home Warranty for 3-4 years but my recent experience has been very very disappointing and pathetic behavior of the company. I filed a service request to fix my washer on 29th December, 2 days later some technician shows up and diagnoses the problem. It took more than 2 weeks to get the parts ordered. I enquired about buy-out option but I didn't consider their buyout option. They wouldn't disclose parts name nor updated in the claim. After a week of order parts I called them to find out status. Finally after almost 4 weeks I was told my claim was denied which totally surprised me after so much time spent calling them more than half dozen times during the process. I was totally frustrated with customer support folks and claims handling process which is only thru phone which is even frustrating. Customer support folks spoke little and no good english. Finally I decided to cancel about 45 days left on my contract and asked them to refund my money back. Now they can come up with more excuses to avoid paying money instead of fixing the problems on their end with claims handling. Most interesting part is I have received parts after cancelling my contract.I am totally disappointed with service quality, customer support, Claims submission and phone support was very chaotic and didn't go anywhere even after multiple escalations.I feel sorry for all those customer that are diligently paying every month with an expectation of First American Home Warranty will handle and help on what they originally promised.Totally disappointed with pathetic customer support, inefficient claims handling process and cheap contractors. Highly discourage everyone to pay for such service.First American Home Warranty Response

I wouldn't recommend anyone to stick with First American Home Warranty as it is not worth the hassle of dealing with incompetent and inefficient company. Their customer support team is completely chaotic and inefficient. It took almost 30 days for them to decide what is covered and not covered. Also It is really stupid to say dispenser is covered while the leak was coming from the hose connected to the dispenser. Fortunately the leak didn't cause any further damage to the house. After making ******************************************************************************************************************************* a single day ! Finally I am so relieved now that I switched to Choice Home Warranty and even at lower cost than First American Home Warranty !! Choice Home customer service is so awesome !!Review from Heather J

Been waiting for 2 weeks for an issue to be resolved with my washer and dryer. Misinformation from the company who told me they would call me after they spoke to the contractor *** sent out. Never received a call so followed up to here a supervisor tell me he wasn't going back and forth with me when I asked for the status on the dryer because the contractor suggested replacement. ***** told me on January 31, 2025 around ******* pm that they were NOT replacing the dryer because the contractor said it needed a part and he could fix it. ***** falsely wrote that I accepted an offer for the washing machine that they wanted to give me that is too large for my entry way and basically hurried me off the phone without verifying the information with the contractor as I requested and was documented on my account when I called twice 3 days ago.Rude inconsiderate and incompetent. No type of customer service at all. I called back and the representative who was not a supervisor called the contractor and verified what I was saying. It only takes 5 minutes or less to provide good customer service. This supervisor did not and I'm disappointed and honestly sick to my stomach about this. It's not his money and I'm without ************* about the service- they have tricks. My home is smaller and the 1 washer that they recommended will not fit in my home. They told me that they can't look into anything else for replacement and even if the size doesn't fit they will give me less money to replace it. A slap in the face.Review from Charlene S
