    Pre-need guaranteed contract #****** effective 05/02/2017. Contract clause advises trust can be revoked for any reason at any time. Costs of $1349.00 should be refunded, less 4% (?) revocation fee. Official request mailed April 28, 2023. Zero response. Final request mailed July 12, 2023 w/ certified mail proof of receipt. Single voice mail received shortly thereafter advising 8 week processing time [even though contract stated 15 days]. More than 8 weeks later: No further action conducted by Simple Solutions; no funds received; still awaiting refund. Simple Traditions is dragging their feet to avoid returning my money.

    I reached out to client. Our company's office suffered a catastrophic flood in January 2023. We were forced to move our business of almost 30 years practically overnight. Due to the chaos and change in address mail was not delivered, lost, returned to sender.  I explained to client that I had not received certified letter and honestly was unaware of her request.  She was understanding and I issued her a refund in full as soon as we connected. She said she was going to contact the BBB and amend her complaint. I'd be very happy if she follows through.

    Better Business Bureau:

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this response is a twisted synopsis of what our (my discussion with *******************) entailed.

    Within our discussion, *********** advised that she was "100% at fault"; that the business should have responded after my first letter of April, 2023; that the business should have responded after the second letter of July, 2023 - which had been delivered via certified mail.

    The only reason I finally received my full refund was because I also enlisted the help of the ********** Cemetary and **************. It was their intervention that caused the response that settles this matter.

    Having said this, I am disappointed that *********** desires to minimize her responsibiility in this situation to the public by conflating the words in her response.

    I AM satisfied that this issue has reached a positive resolution in that my money was refunded.

    There should be no need for follow-up.

    We are trying to get the urn of my ************************* ******************* mailed to ***************. The money and mailing address has already been provided to them. However, the main issue that we are dealing with Simple Traditions is the lack of communication from the party. We have called them multiple times asking when it is going to be mailed and they keep promising soon. This mailing issue has been ongoing since November 2022 and they have had the urn since December 2021. Our family from *************** are expecting her cremated remains but the lack of participation of the business has created a long wait for our family.

    The case of ********************************* and shipment of the urn to the *********** is a result of the family not providing us with the correct paperwork for the shipment. We've explained that they need to provide us with an identification such as a license or passport to ship the urn. They are aware of this,but, haven't provided what is. needed to ship her.  
    I will contact them and ask them to pick her urn up and keep her at home until they travel to *************** where they can carry on the urn with the paperwork we have filed which will be fine.  Without the correct identification we can't ship her urn to ***************.

    I purchased and paid in full my prepaid cremation service back in 2018. In July 2022 I suffered a stroke and relocated to my daughter's home in *******, **, so she could take care of me. Because the cremation service is only good in CA where I previously lived, I contacted Simple Traditions to ask them to revoke the Trust, less the 10% Revocation Fee, and send the money to me here in MS. I have contacted them 5 times and each time I am assured that they are processing the paperwork, but I have yet to see my refund. I am 86 years old and need to purchase a prepaid service here in MS before I pass away, so my daughter is not left with this cost burden.

    The second complaint from ***************************** is news to me. I'm assuming my answering service orn perhaps an employee did not follow through on sending me the information because I would have taken care of that immediately.  I will call her tomorrow and issue a refund check. That is not how we do business and I'm a little upset with whoever didn't forward that request to me.
