My car was serviced at Adams Autoworx 11/30/2022 for the amount of $3,052.77, this price included Spark Plugs and Coil Boot replacement. I had to return to Adams Autoworx 3x after my car was fixed. I returned to Adams Autoworx the same day my car was fixed, 11/30/2022, because the check engine light came on. I had to return my car back to **** Autoworx about a week later because the check engine light came on, my car would shake while driving and in idle. I then returned my car about a month later because my car continued to do the same thing (check engine light on, shaking) and it actually cut on in the middle on traffic and wouldnt turn back on. They insisted they couldnt find an issue. On 6/27/2023 my car began shaking, the check engine light came on, and I had to tow my car to AAA ****************** because I couldnt drive it. I was told by the mechanic the spark plugs and coils were corroded and some even broke apart.

We are so sorry that ********************** Lexus had an issue. As an arbritrator of this issue, her spark plugs and coil boots were replaced 12/2/22, and were replaced per factory scheduled maintenance, not a symptom. We do have her returning with a complaint, see attached invoice. After testing the car multiple times, there was nothing to report, as the car was not symptomatic and the "Check Engine Light" was not on, nor did it have any history codes to give us a clue it was having an issue. Autoworx provides a 3 year ***** mile warranty on our parts and labor which ****************** is coverd by. Unfortunatily, we do not konw what AAA did to resolve the issue, or if it was caused by any covered parts. Warranty would be through our facility or partner shop across ***************** and ******.

Taking the vehicle to another repair facility and not leting us know what resolved the issue makes determining if this is a covered issue impossible. Please ask ****************** to provide a detailed diagnostic report from AAA of what was actually wrong with the car, what correction was make to resolve the issue, and to provide us with the defective parts for inspection.

    Customer response

    Complaint: 20267455

I am rejecting this response because:
Its unsatisfactory to my claim for a refund for services rendered.
On 11/16/2022 I had an appointment for an oil change and I told service advisors my shakes while in idle or at a stop. They reassured me theyd look into it. Upon completion of the oil change, I received a list of recommended services that led me to making an appointment for 11/30/2022. The appointment for services was 11/30/2022 with an invoice date of 12/2/2022, the day my vehicle was returned. Same day, 12/2/2022, I had to return to Adams Autoworx because the check engine light appeared. I was told something wasnt plugged in properly, and everything was fixed, check engine light no longer appeared. Can the invoice for my return to the shop on 12/2/2022 be provided as well?
The following week the check engine light reappeared and I spoke with Service Advisor: ***** about returning my vehicle, but was unable to at the time because I had COVID. In the span of 1-2 weeks leading up to the invoice thats being provided by **** Autoworx, for 12/19/2022, my check engine light had reappeared numerous times with intense shaking, intermittently, when starting my car, while my car was in idle, and when I would drive. My car had even stopped in the middle of the road and I couldnt start it back up for hours.
On 12/17/2022 I tried to return my car back to adams autoworx, but they were closed, so I got a second opinion from another mechanic and a particular code showed up on his diagnostic tool advising to look at a particular spark plug/ coil.

On 12/19/2022-12/23/2022 I spoke with Service Advisor: *********************** and my car was returned back to Adams Autoworx during that time. I also didnt receive an invoice for the dates provided above, until today. I advised Adams Autoworx of the recommendation from the second mechanic, as well. They continued to insist that nothing was wrong and their diagnostic tool hadnt picked up anything wrong.

Moving forward to 6/26/2023 my check engine light reappeared with intense shaking that ultimately led me having to tow my car to AAA because my car was, once again, unable to drive. Ultimately I was told my spark plugs / coils were the cause.
    Sincerely,

    ********************
