I phoned Calibugs & told them what I needed: Treatment of an identified termite infestation at a single spot. I was told that a tech could do the treatment two days later at a cost of $125. I agreed, & they said the tech would phone me the next day about the treatment. When I did not receive a call I called them late in the day & was told the tech would call me the next day. When I again did not receive a call, I called again & left a message. Shortly after, the tech called to say he was on the way to the property. They had promised the tech would call me to give me time to meet him when he arrived, which they did not do. I left immediately but when I arrived the tech told me that he had performed an inspection, said he would not treat the ******** *** should reschedule. He tried to sell me a full treatment I did not need for over $1400, or said I could pay $250 for the treatment I had requested. Later that day, the technician called me to demand I pay $125 for an inspection I neither requested, nor needed, nor agreed to. When I told him I would not pay for a service I did not request, want or agree to, & that I was promised a treatment on that day for $125, he said the person on the phone was new and made an error. They take no responsibility for that error, & instead continue to demand money I did not agree to pay for an inspection I neither wanted nor needed. They are not only unreasonable, bad & possibly dishonest businessmen. They also were incompetent. The tech misdiagnosed the problem as subterranean termites, which was not what they were. If they had done a treatment, it would have been ineffective. The company continues to harass me to pay them $125. I have explained the situation & asked why they believe I owe them $125 given the facts. Their only reply is to continue to harass me with an invoice. This is *********** *** believe it will continue, probably with demands for late charges. They continue to harass ********** my time and energy.

    Customer response

I do not actually reject the BBB response. But I didn't see another way to respond to the BBB member Calibugs except by clicking this option. Here's my response to Calibugs  and my requests:

Calibugs has failed to take responsibility for its errors and for its disregard of its customer. ********************** could have easily resolved this matter months ago by simply retracting their invoice at my request, notifying me that they had retracted the invoice, and ceasing to send me automatically generated invoices demanding money I did not owe them. Instead, they failed to communicate with me, and continued to demand payment despite my repeated requests that they cease their demands, or at least explain why they believed I owed them money.

    I request that Calibugs:

    Acknowledge that it:
    1. Erred by failing to perform the service it agreed to perform on the day we scheduled to meet, or, alternatively, that it erred by agreeing to perform a service it did not intend to perform.
    2. Failed to communicate with me as promised before and on the day scheduled for service.
    3. Made repeated demands for payment for an inspection that I did not request, did not need and did not agree to pay for.
    4. Failed to respond to me when I objected to the invoice in which it demanded money I did not owe it and explained the reason for my objection.
5  Continued to send a total of three invoices for an amount I did not owe it, and completely failed to respond to my repeated objections to their demands, instead continuing to send demanding payment.
    6. Only communicated with me after I told it I had filed a complaint with the BBB. In that post-complaint communication, it took no responsibility for its errors and its gross disregard of me by its failure to respond to my objections to their repeated demands for money I did not owe it.
    7. Failed to take necessary action to stop the automatic generation of invoices sent to me demanding money I did not owe it.
    8. Misdiagnosed the problem at my property as a subterranean termite infestation when the problem was a drywood termite infestation, and tried to sell me a service that would not have resolved the problem.

    I also request that Calibugs:

    1. Assure that it will cease sending me additional automatically generated demands for money I do not owe it.
    2. Apologize for its failure to perform the service it promised.
    3. Apologize for its failure to communicate with me as promised about the service it agreed to perform.
    4. Apologize for its gross disregard evidenced by its failure to respond to my repeated requests that it retract its invoice, and cease harassing me by demanding money I did not owe it.
    5. Agree to train its technicians to recognize the difference between a subterranean termite infestation and a drywood termite infestation.

I request that the BBB publicly post my complaint about Calibugs incompetence in diagnosing the problem at my property, sloppy business practices, and gross disregard for their customer.

    Thank you.
