We met ***** ****, the owner of Critical Thinking Dog Services LLC, on 12/15/21 and placed a $1350.00 deposit (total cost was $5400) on 12/22/21 to secure his dog board & training services. Upon our consultation meeting on 12/15/21, ***** verbally promised that he was going to train our 2 dogs' behavioral issues and reassured that nothing would harm their health. My wife asked ***** if he could provide us a written agreement, but ***** deflected and said that it wasn't necessary and guaranteed that he will fulfill his services as mentioned, including feeding them. On 1/3/22, ***** began the board & train with my 2 dogs. Throughout January, ***** sent us photos/videos of the dogs. We also inquired on their progress and whether they were eating enough. We noticed his Instagram feed featured him training 7-9 different dogs per day, sparking concerns whether our dogs were receiving enough training and attention. 4 weeks later we had a follow up meeting, and we noticed that the dogs lost a lot of weight due to their prominent rib cages. While ***** deflected all the blame and responsibility for their condition, it was apparent to us that the dogs were neglected, especially after he said “it’s not my fault if your dogs don’t eat.” We pulled the dogs out of training that day despite having 2 weeks remaining and ***** reluctantly refunded us $700 to compensate for the incomplete 2 weeks. The next day the vet confirmed our dogs were malnourished, due to ******* negligence ruling out all other possible causes. As time passed, we noticed the dogs' behaviors didn’t improve but came back worse. ***** did not fulfill his verbal promise and neglected to help our dogs. We believe we are entitled to a refund for the remaining $4700 and $740.56 accrued from the vet bill because of his failure to deliver his service and damage to our dogs’ health. He has not followed up to offer help after the training and has left us without reply since our last message/meeting.
