  I had a rent relief check that I had received in the amount of $18,000 and I took it to express check cashing on February 15th 2024 first and foremost I called him because there was nobody inside his business with the open sign on. I called him and asked him if he could cash a $18,000 check he said he would be there within a half hour when I got there he looked over it he said he would be able to deposit it into his bank and he would have all the money there within 2 days so I agreed left him the check and he gave me a copy of the check and a signed receipt stating that I would pay 10% of the $18,000 to cash it with him as soon as the check cleared in full.2 days went by I called him again asked him if he was ready for me to come down to pick up my money he said no it's going to be another 2 days because it was a holiday I agreed called him back in two more days and at this point he was giving me every excuse he could saying he would call me back he would call me back he would call me back I probably called him about five times in one day because he couldn't call me back and let me know if I could come down to pick up my money. I finally looked up his business on Yelp and saw all the terrible reviews and started getting nervous so I called him back I told him I was coming to pick up my check or my money either way I'm coming for one or the other he reluctantly agreed and told me to meet him at the other business of his off of Hillsdale in ***************. when I got to the store off of Hillsdale and *************** the open sign was on but nobody was in the building so I called him and he was there within 10 minutes he opened the door he went inside and he told me that he was giving me some of his money because they put a hold on the check. He only gave me $4,200 and told me to contact him within 10 days and that the check should be cleared. I called him today and he tells me to call him tomorrow and that he might not be able to get me my full amount because he cannot order that much money from the bank.
