I purchased a motor for my 93 ****** pickup off ***** Alameda motors is the seller of the item. The motor came with a 1 year warranty. I paid a shop to professionally install the motor. Everything seemingly went fine. Within two weeks of installing the motor, it spun a rod bearing completely destroying the motor. I contacted the seller, he arranged shipping of the motor back to him. after almost two weeks I asked for an update, l was told by the end of the week Id hear something. There was no update, the following week I was told Id have an answer. The following week no update. I threatened to contact my financial institution. I had a response in 4min. The following week I asked for a tracking number or a refund. No response again. Since then the seller Alameda Motors ************************************************************* ********************* - ************** has stopped communicating with me and has not given a refund or my motor. I no longer want his product, I simply want my refund.Business response

I purchased a rebuilt engine for my car from "Alameda Motors" 4/30/22 with a one year warranty. 4/1/23 my check engine light and car fan came on. I called Alameda Motors they was not able to see my car that day so I took it to their mechanic who's name is *******. ******* machine read cylinder one misfire so he replaced my cylinder coil. That Monday 4/3 my check engine light came back on so I called ****** who is the Alameda Motors Shop Manager. He made a appointment for me to come drop the car off for Wednesday at 9:00am. I dropped my car off and they did not look at my car until Thursday Evening because ****** said they where short mechanics and they were also closed that Friday for good Friday. That following Monday i called to follow up on my car and ****** said they will do a leak test and replace the thermastat and my car will be ready for pick up. I picked my car up Thursday 4/13 with a the labor breakdown description. A week later I encountered the same issue ************* light) and reached out to ****** April 23rd via text and phone to let him know what was going on and to also let him know I will be making an appointment with the dealership for a second opinion since his team could not get to the bottom of it. (I was fully aware that my warranty was soon to expire and ****** informed me that they will still work with me if it is in fact engine related.) Between my work schedule & the soonest appointment the dealership had available I was able to drop my car off 5/8 to jeep dodge dealership. Their machine was reading multiple cylinder ********************* still even after my ********************* one was replaced by "Alameda Motors." They told me I could not drive my car and it looks like the cylinder heads have failed or defective cylinder heads due to warpage or cracks. I took this diagnostic to "Alameda Motors" the same day they said there is nothing they can not longer do since my warranty expired 5/3. Now I have to get new head gaskets or a engine.Business response

This is ********************* Shop mechanic at Alameda Motor. Upon inspection of this vehicle mechanics found vehicle had in fact the check engine light on. Once engine codes were checked it was determined that the codes were of a thermostat failure and random misfire on no specific cylinder. Mechanics then inspected vehicle to obtain more information and noticed vehicles cooling fans not working adequately and possibly created the engine to run hot. Our warranty states that if the engine fails due to internal failure or mechanical failure then customer is covered. We do not however cover engine failure due to externals failing and damaging the engine. Customer had vehicle for 11 months before bringing any problems of such to our attention. It is customers responsibility to have any problems fixed before warranty expires, it is shops policy that the warranty will only cover 1 year no exceptions. Alameda Motors can have cylinder heads removed and inspected along with the cylinder head gaskets with a charge of 800 for labor not including any additional repairs. Thank you.Initial Complaint

Purchase a remanufactured *********** from Alameda Motors through ebay for a price of ******** with a full year warranty (Oct 21, 2021) sinced there was major renovation construction on my driveway, sidewalk, and street from the city, I was not able to get my vehicle to a shop to do the motor swap until March 15, 2022. The shop I chose to do the swap was L.A. Smog Center( ***************** *** ******** ** XXXXX) The project was completed on April 27, 2022. Labor cost ***** with warranty for their labor. The vehicle was running fine at the shop. When I was driving it home on the freeway, the motor start to make a knocking noise. Sounded like a rod bearing slipped. Got the vehicle towed back to the mechanic, they inspected it and confirmed a rod bearing slipped. The pulled the motor out and I took it to Alameda Motors. Basically now the motor shop is blaming the installers, and the installers are blaming that he motor was bad.Business response

I took a ****** truck not running with an engine problem. I payed ***** upfront to have them installed a new engine rebuild engine into the vehicle. Once the vehicle was there I was told it was missing some parts (Fab clutch/fan blade/distributo cap and rotor and spark plug wire set )and I needed to pay extra. The vehicle came in with all the parts all they have to do is remove old damage engine and install a working engine that is how we agreed to. They also asked that I pay for new pistons because the ones that came with the engine in the truck where damaged I told them that we didn't need to since we agreed to installed a new rebuild engine not to rebuild the current engine in the truck. I was told that they can do what ever they want as long as the engine is working. I did not want to pay for the extras that came out after the agreement. They insisted that I payed to get the truck done. Even said that if I paid they might have some of the parts missing laying around the shop (Fab clutch/fan blade/distributo cap and rotor and spark plug wire set) and can give me a good price on them. After I told them I did not want to pay for those extra things they just wanted to charge extra for the missing parts that shouldn't of not been missing, the pistons that we didn't need because the agreement was to get a new rebuild engine not to rebuild the current one and me have to pay for parts to rebuild it. I was told if I didn't pay storage fees where going to start then they can start a lien sales on my truck. I payed and tuck my truck home. I felt I was pressure into paying extra for things my truck didn't need and because I didn't not want storage fees. I picked up my truck not running or finished because I could not afford to pay extra for the missing parts(Fab clutch/fan blade/distributo cap and rotor and spark plug wire set). I paid ***** deposit,Then another ************* ******** agreement was $**** upfront ***** when it's fished. I paid more truck still not workBusiness response
