Guidance alum reached out to me last summer saying that they would forgive my student loans after a certain amount of payments. 3 payments of $520 were taken from my account across the span of the summer. I got in contact with them after realizing I was being scammed and we agreed that they would refund the payments taken from my account. I received 1 singular check for $520 and I waited for the others to come in. After a couple months of no further refunds arriving, I tried to get in touch with them again and the phone number does not connect. If I do not hear from the business in 30 days, I will be in contact with my lawyer.

Guidance Alum has said that they are a document servicing company and they would provide this service to get my loans forgiven. I received multiple calls saying I qualified to have my loans forgiven. AFter finally deciding to return one, I was told that Nelnet was "defrauding" people and they would take the loan and get it forgiven and do the paperwork if I paid $260 for 5 months and $49 for how many ever months I needed to before I "qualified" and would then pay nothing and my loan would be forgiven. The man on the phone also told me his wife did the program and was in education like me and get her loan totally forgiven. And now, in hind sight, how do I know this is even true? Since signing on this them they have taken my money but have seen no results other than "the program has been suspended". I am also aware of a program that will, for free, forgive my loans. To date, they have taken $1,496 from my account and despite making calls to the call center (which seems to take call for multiple companies) no one has been able to tell me exactly what they have been able to do to cover my student loans. I have also made calls during the past 8 months or so and there was either no answer or the number was not in service - which of course was the first red flag. When I looked up the website trying to get more information, find phone numbers, and other info about the company it was very fishy and didn't seem legit. When I called the number listed on the website a while back, the number was not in service. And furthermore, there is a way I can get my loans forgiven for free and they did not disclose this information until after I signed on with them. I now cannot currently find a website. When I search for it, the only info that comes up is basically that it is a scam. Please help!

Guidance alum had reached out during the pandemic stating that they could help with my student loan debt forgiveness even though payments were already suspended because of the pandemic. They took 5 months of a $200 Payment and $86 there after starting last March... Claiming to state they could help have my loan forgiven. Now recently I received a text and an email that states Hello, this is Guidance Alum regarding your student loans. Due to COVID-19, we will no longer be billing your account, as a convenience to you. Please check your email for further details that will assist. We can be contacted at **************. Thanks! The email they claimed to have sent is totally blank as well... So yeah this definitely seems like a scam because why would they all of a sudden be done billing my account if it wasn't infact a scam as a way for someone to make money from the payments I would have been sending my student loan provider in the first place! Would like a total refund of the 5 months at $200 and 7 almost 8 months of an $86 payment! So crazy... ************ does their company even provide at this point but a scam to take my money... My student debt loan was not forgiven here and none of my payment were sent to my student loan servicer, and all my login info gone....

I received calls about help with loan forgiveness. I thought I had originally signed up and then I never received any information. They took $260 out and never heard from them again. My loan was then transferred to another service provider which makes no sense if Guidance Alum was the one who was handling my loans now. I call and they will not let me speak with a Manager at this 'call center' who only has the same person answering every time. Seems sketchy to me.
