    1. Dishonesty - They quoted a low price at the beginning to get the job and charged me an extra $1000 after the work was done. They told me that the extra charge was for the material costs and provide a list of receipts as proof. Those receipts seem to be real but below are the tricks they used. - The material cost listed in their original quote was way lower than the market, which I didn't notice in the first place since I don't have the expertise to know the material cost. They probably did it intentionally to make the total quote low. And they didn't tell me anything about the potential extra material cost when I sign the contract (It is not written in the contract either).- They didn't ask me for approval for material purchase during the process and only told me the extra charge after the work was done. 2. The permit was pulled using a license under the name ***********************. But the name of the contractor I worked with is called *************************. When I raise my doubt, they told me that *********************** and ************************* are the same person. ************************* is his childhood name. It is suspicious. And even if this is TRUE, **** is not the person who did the actual installation. He only showed up on the first day when we signed the contract and during the final inspection. The remaining work is done by another group of people. This is mentioned in other Yelp reviews as well.3. When I was trying to negotiate with them, the owner threatened to put me into debt collection.

During the course of a job material cost is subject to change we dont provide a set material cost only an estimate because we have no control over availability or market price. This customer was understandably upset due to the fact he was not informed of the increase as the job continued. However by the time the increase in materials took place the job was well underway and could not be stoped or left in an unsafe condition. We successfully completed the job he wished to have preformed and it also passed inspection. The license holders nickname is absolutely of no ones concern and is irrelevant because he uses his birth name the name on the license when filling out any and all documentation. Further action will be taken with Any customer that does not pay after multiple notifications, this is true of most businesses that provide a service. Material was purchased for customers job and used and is now attached to the customers home, furthermore customer was offer the option of paying less then what was owed twice and refused only to offer an amount that wouldnt even cover half of material cost. Invoice was paid and I consider this matter to be finished.

I am rejecting this response because:

The contractor should be familiar with the market price of materials and provide estimation that are as accurate as possible. They estimated the material cost is $2500 but I ended up paying $1000 more. I am paying 40% more. That's unacceptable. What they did was provided me a low quote to won the deal and forced/threatened me to pay more when the work is done.

    Sincerely,
