This is a ABA company there job is to Help kids with autism. I called to schedule a assessment for my child and the lady on the phone Dr.********* was a sexiest who refused to help me because I am male. She refused to schedule a assessment for my child. Nothing could be worked out or scheduled, her answer was simply no I cant help you. She did not try to schedule a observation or appointment. She put words in my mouth as far as what my schedule availability is. When I asked to speak to the owner she said she was to busy to talk to me. Her job is to help kids with autism. What kind of a scumbag does one person have to be to not help with kids with autism. I demand to speak to the owner and I demand that my son gets a evaluation as his entitled for *** services.

Father of client called on 4/28. The father asked about our onboarding process and said he want an assessment but not to commit to any services or **********, and that he can't commit to any particular schedule or availability right now. I told him we do not have the availability of staff to serve children only in the afternoons (kids that go to school all day and since the child was 7, he would be going to school all day).  I told dad that I didn't think we are right fit for his son given our limited staff available for late afternoons and I could give him other referrals. Dad called me sexist, as he said that I wouldn't schedule an intake for his son because he is male, and said he is "fucking sick of being told that no agency could assess him". He asked to speak to the man in charge-I told him that the agency is owned by 2 women, but neither were able to speak to him at the moment, and that I myself am a director. He said he was going to complain to the BBB because I refused to assess his son.

I am rejecting this response because: This lady is leaving out several key pieces of information from the conversation. First of all let me state that my son does have autism confirmed by the regional center and there job at the Autism Behavior Intervention is to do just that provide *** services to autistic kids in need, which so far they have failed to do there job and what this whole business is set up for. Second of all, during the conversation over the phone I stated to this lady when the topic of scheduling came up that even though my son is 7 and his going to school I am very open to scheduling and I am very flexible to the hours. For example, I told this lady that it's summer and he has no school over the summer and we are very open and flexible in whatever hours are available. Also, another example I told her in August once school starts, everyone from the board of directors at the school district to the SPED department to the principal of his school and teachers are all aware of his autism and that the district would be open to creating flexibility hours for him if needed by than to assure that his put in position to have a successful school year. Again, between now and August it's a very long time. The reason why I filed a complaint to the BBB is because she REFUSED to help me and my autistic son. Again in her own words " I told the dad I didn't think we are right for his son given our limited staff available for late afternoons'', nowhere in her comments is she mentioning the fact that I said Im open to hours and I am flexible, nowhere in her response is she mentioning summer because what does summer have to do with "afternoon hours'' when there is no school? And nowhere in her response does she mention that I said the district is open and flexible to hours during his school year. In addition, I am proud to say that my wife and I found a local *** service that's run by Armenians and I am proud to say they were very flexible with us and took us on even though they have limited staff also. Why? Because unlike this business, the *** business I found understood kids are not at school in the summer and "afternoon hours'' have nothing to do with helping us, unlike this business, the *** business I found understood that even in August the district is open and flexible in working with us to assure my son receives the services he needs for ultimately succeeding in school. So yes, this lady, this "director" is not only sexist for not helping me but she's a racist also, that's the only explanation for saying something like "my son is not a good fit" for their clinic. Why is my autistic son not a "good fit" for your clinic? This lady and business should be ashamed of themselves. The whole purpose of this business is to help autistic kids, and because of her being sexist and racist she's refusing to help my son? How dare she? And how lower can you be to go to sleep at night knowing you CHOOSE to REFUSE services to a autistic kid. If shes was not a sexist or racist than in her original reply to the BBB she would disclose all of this information such as the fact that I am open and flexible not only all summer but also in August, she refused to mention any of this in her reply to the BBB she refused to accept any accountability or responsibility. I demand an apology letter from this lady specifically and also from the company. I also demand the BBB to make sure all review sites have a BBB notice and warning to disclose this information to future clients and parents of autistic children.

    Sincerely,
    ***********

The father's call was an initial call for information.  We do not schedule assessments immediately upon the first call.  We take initial information regarding funding and availability to determine if we can meet the client's needs.  He was being abusive on the call and therefore we chose not to continue the conversation.  I'm glad he has found a company that he able to communicate appropriately with, and we wish him the best of luck.
