  I went to Garage Company Corp. on 05/12/2021 with my **** *** frame and TC Bros Hardtail Kit for its installation. I called the day prior to make sure this was within the shops skill set and I was told they could absolutely do it. ***** said it would take one week and it would be **** cash. He took an extra day and said that it was not easy to finish. He sent some pictures of it on his metal workbench. I paid him and took my frame home. ***** and Garage Company Corp. committed to provide a functional and safe hardtailed frame, but unfortunately failed to do so. I first noticed its improper installation when I brought it home. The seatpost was not perpendicular to the lower cross brace and there was a cross brace in front of the seat post when there shouldn't be and there was no cross brace in the rear to mount the rear fender. I contacted ***** and he said the neck and rear axle were in alignment so it was okay to assemble. I wasn't sure how this was the case when the improper cross brace installation made it so that the engine could not be installed and the misaligned seatpost moved an engine mount out of alignment. I contacted another mechanic and the manufacturer of the hardtail kit and their responses are attached below. I explained to ***** what the issue was and he either could not understand or didn't believe he was at fault. He blamed the manufacturer initially so I touched base with them and that response is attached as well. I left my frame as ***** requested on ********* so he could repair it. On ********** I decided I'd given ***** enough time to repair the frame while he left me in the dark and I let him know to leave the frame as it was and I'd come to pick it up and that I wanted my money back or we'd have to go to court. He finally conceded and wrote a check for **** to refund the initial fee and **** for the frame. The check bounced and I was charged a *** fee. He claimed that his bank said the writing was unclear. He no longer responds to me.

  Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2022/05/26) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The pictures I attached clearly show that the frame was not straight. The frame rails were not cut as described. My frame is a 1972 model which requires you to take your own measurements that differ from the instructions provided for the later model frames. The emails of my conversation with TC Bros I attached explain this. The frame was not finished perfectly as they said in their response. There were several mistakes that make that clear: the seat post is not perpendicular to the lower frame rail (which affects chain alignment and motor mount alignment) and a lower frame rail is in the wrong place (which prevents installing the engine and leaves no place to mount a fender). I will attach pictures of the frame completed by GARAGE COMPANY CORP and what the frame should look like so this is clear. Unfortunately, GARAGE COMPANY CORP still refuses to accept responsibility and recognize the frame was installed improperly. I do not accept their response.
