Im currently dealing with the incompetence of HireRight and I'm afraid my employment may be at risk. The company does not understand that as a Sole Proprietor with a freelance business that I do not receive W2s or 1099s. I'm solely responsible for taxes and have completed them for the last 6 years by entering my payment history only. If the *** has no problem accepting my income in this form then why should a third party verification company?I have linked the platform's policies, tax returns (showing how it was entered in the 1040), and ALL my payment history directly from the company. I've also included a signed explanation from one platform's CEO and they are still claiming that my paperwork is unacceptable. They also take issue that in my state, Sole Proprietor's are not required to register with the state if they choose to use their SSN or a dba. I've also provided links to the official **** website as ******* next step is to contact them directly to seek a resolution. I regret having contact with this company and feel they are more headache than results.

I am currently in the process of having a background check done. I am supposed to start my new job in 10 days and have put my 2 week notice in with my current job, as I was told my background check was to be completed by 1/20. Since then it has been delayed 2 more weeks (anticipated). They stated theyre waiting on criminal records from a specific county thats delayed. I contacted the court and the court stated that it isnt them thats behind, its Hireright and they dont have a request with my name. Im in a tough spot, especially when I know the report will come back clean. I will be out of a job soon and Hireright told me they cannot expedite this and Im not getting much assistance.

Received an email from this company telling me that I needed to go to their website to give permission for the company I applied for which was ***** to access my MVR and afterwards I could Go to their website and get a copy for myself. Turns out that that's not true. You can go to their website all you want, but you can't access your information without going through a c*** ton of stuff to get them to eventually, maybe possibly mail it to you. Personally I consider this to be email fraud.

I am currently in the process of having a background check done with this company. So far it has taken 4 business days because they keep requesting more information. I have sent it all in. However, in my last position I was subcontracting. I have found Hireright to be very invasive. They are asking for my gst filings, all of my paystubs my start and finish letters, my business licence info as well as my gst registration number. The job I have been offered is hourly plus commission. So my self employment info is irrelevant. I don't feel it is anyones business and I truly wonder what is the real motive for being so invasive?

I used HireRight for a background check, and they asked for my Social Security Number and a W-2 form. After uploading the W-2, I realized it wasnt necessary and asked them to delete it because it contains super sensitive info, including my SSN.HireRight told me they cant delete it, which is ridiculous. Why would they keep this kind of information if Im asking for it to be removed? This puts me at risk of identity theft, and they havent given me any good reason why they cant just delete it from their system.I want HireRight to delete my W-2 and any other personal information I uploaded and send me proof that its been done. Its my personal info, and I shouldnt have to beg them to take care of it.

I am filing this complaint regarding the frustrating and inefficient experience I have had with HireRight during the background check process.I clearly indicated on my application that I was self-employed and provided accurate information regarding my dates of employment. However, during a call with a representative, they seemed to misunderstand this and repeatedly asked to speak to someone else who could verify my employment. This demonstrates a lack of attention to the details I explicitly provided.Furthermore, I was told that I did not confirm the correct dates of my employment, despite submitting accurate information. This lack of clarity and poor handling of my case has caused unnecessary delays and stress.I request that HireRight take immediate steps to review my case, resolve these issues, and ensure that applicants receive more professional and thorough service in the future. The level of service I have experienced is unacceptable, especially for a company entrusted with such a critical part of the hiring process.Thank you for addressing this matter promptly. I look forward to your response.

HireRight is the company hired by my prospective employer to conduct a background check. I was offered employment in NOVEMBER. The background check was initiated on 11/7/24 and to date 12/23/24 is not complete due to ongoing delays. HireRight states "additional research with the court is needed to complete this request." The self-reported information I provided is more than 20 years old. I reported it be**use I was advised that I must report any and all convictions, however, ** state law, ** Civil Code 1786.18 (a)(7), prohibits convictions more than 7 years old from being disclosed on an employer background check report. Additionally, I confirmed via the Sacramento County Superior Court public access website and I **lled the court to confirm the dates of the convictions using just my name and there are not multiple people with my name, there is only myself that comes up, so HireRight **nnot use that excuse. I was able to verify this information within 10 minutes and yet HireRight is claiming to still be working on it 1 1/2 months later. HireRight should be aware of this information and ** laws but when I **lled they seemed clueless and to be reading from a script. And the kicker, HireRight has a VENDOR that is completing the background check according to Adrian, a customer service supervisor. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE AND MY BACKGROUND NEEDS TO BE CLEARED TODAY, NOT ASAP, TODAY. It has been 1 1/2 months and it does not take that long! HireRight's delays have **use so many issues for me be**use I EXPECTED HIRERIGHT TO DO THEIR JOB AND TIMELY. There is no reason my background report is not done, the convictions are over 20 years old and ** state law prohibits the information from being disclosed in the report, THAT SIMPLE.

Thank you for your comments. Most searches in your report completed quickly. However, this remaining search is impacted by a recent state appellate decision that has greatly limited the background check process, especially for some in-state sources. As a result of the appellate ruling about access to records, some source locations are not allowing researchers access to complete date of birth on record indexes and have also removed other personal identifying information such as driver's license numbers. As a result, some requests require clerk assistance to process, which can involve off-site file searches. When clerk assistance is needed, the ETAs can exceed 30 days. The known delay in this jurisdiction was noted on the report on the day this report was ordered, notifying the employer. We look forward to the completion of this remaining search and the closing of your report. Thank you for your patience during this process.

This response is unacceptable and simply sounds like a script and out right lie. I contacted the court myself and ordered my file on 12/12/2024 and on 12/26/2024 confirmed the clerks have my file. This tells me that HireRight did NOT request my file and if they did, they failed to follow up to ensure receipt in a timely manner. I was able to complete in 2 WEEKS INCLUDING WEEKENDS AND A HOLIDAY what HireRight is claiming they still need time to complete after almost 2 months. Additionally, HireRight has failed to explain WHY they are requesting a file that is over 25 years old (1999) THAT CANNOT BE REPORTED because it is against state law!

I acknowledge that my background check is finally complete after almost 2 months HOWEVER that is only because I contacted the court and had the records ordered and followed through until the records were available. MY request took 14 days including weekends and the Christmas holiday AND furthermore due to the initial business response I contacted the executive team and it is ONLY because of the executives and my request and follow up to the court that this complaint was resolved in an expedited manner NOT as a result of whomever is responding to these complaints to the BBB or HireRight simply doing their job. I was able to get the matter resolved in 2 weeks including the Christmas holiday when HireRight could not do what they were hired and paid to do in almost 2 months! I’m glad it is over and I’m now able to start my new job and grateful that the employer waited for me. It is only the grace of God it all worked out because HireRight failed tremendously.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I have received from HireRight. I initiated my background check on December 2, and was initially informed that the process would take a few hours or at most one business day. When that timeframe passed, I was told it would take 3-5 business days. After five business days passed, I followed up and was then informed that it would take 14 business days. The turnaround time for this simple background check has been extended multiple times without any proper explanation from HireRight. I have received conflicting information from different representatives. One representative claimed there was a technical error with Clayton County, while others insisted there was no such issue. When I requested to speak with a supervisor on two separate occasions, I was told my call could not be escalated until the full 14 business days had ********* has now been 15 business days, and my background check is still incomplete. HireRight is now saying they will need 20 business days, with a possibility of further delays. I finally managed to speak with a supervisor who confirmed there was a technical error, contradicting what other representatives had told me. Only on the 15th business day did HireRight offer to circumvent the Clayton County Court system, suggesting a statewide search that would take an additional 5 business days. This process, however, requires my employer's approval to proceed.I am deeply frustrated that this alternative approach was not offered sooner, especially given that the supervisor mentioned that Clayton County Court has been known to have delays. The continuous miscommunication and lack of timely solutions have caused significant inconvenience and stress.I am requesting that HireRight expedite my background check immediately and implement measures to prevent such issues in the future. The current situation is unacceptable and reflects poorly on HireRight's reliability and customer service.

HireRight is an agency that logistic companies use to pull cdl drivers motor vehicle reports , in my case I have been involved in 1 accident earlier this year in my personal vehicle . And since I obtained my cdl , every job that I apply to denies me because HireRight provide the employers with an MVR with 2 accidents instead of one . I filled a dispute with them and after 3 days they sent me an email saying that they contacted the department of motor vehicles and they confirmed to them that I have 2 accidents on my record. I immediately called the *** and they told me that they see only one accident and they never said to anyone that I have 2 accidents . I contacted county court that sent the accident report and they said they see only one accident as well . At this point Im blocked and helpless because HireRight insist that my MVR contains 2 accidents instead of 1 . I have been unemployed for many months now waiting to get hired by some trucking company and HireRight stands between me and getting a job .

I was offered a position with *** and they informed me that I would be using hireright, I have gone through employement checks with this company 2 other times so its baffling that they can not seem to find information that has already been verified previously, I am currently at risk of employement due to hireright not comprehending that instacart is a gig work job. I stated I did instacart from October 2021 to January 2022 I provided my 1099 for 2021 and Ive explained to them over and over I do not have any 1099 for 2022 because I did not make over $600 its literally one month, they also flagged my job at ****** half which not only states I am currently employed I am not had they went back and did research when I submitted a review and they would know my last day was 11/22/2024 so now its showing potential conflict which it is not. Its just so frustrating that I am delayed my job over freaking instacart which is not even a real job! Literally I provided my 1099 and Income verification what more do you want? I provided the number to instacart and they are too lazy to even call them they rather keep saying its a conflict when its certainly not

I do not accept this response because I have already disputed it and you did nothing to correct the action, you recieved my 1099 as you asked for and had you done research as a background check company you would know ********* is instacart and had you called the business with the phone number and income verification provided there would be no reason to classify this employer as a conflict of interest which now has my position in jeopardy when this is literally a gig job!
