On July 23rd our 2004 Mazda 2.3 hatchback was taken to Martin's Auto Repair. A new radiator fan and engine replacement. They did not say why they needed a new fan. Car was ready the 30th of July shortly after 6 days car broke down from Greenfield to King City (11 mile drive). The mechanic did not want to pick up the car said it's up to us to figure it out. Martin wanted to charge a large fee to pick up for a 3.2 mile drive. Martin called the next day to ask if it overheated he then proceeded to blame me and raise his voice at me. He said I'm the reason the car overheated and telling me it's my fault. When I pressed the gas on the car lightly to pass a semi truck the car came to a sudden stop. I looked at the dash all gages slowly went down. Stepping on the gas did absolutely nothing temp gage never once went up. After multiple attempts to reach out he completely stopped answering. We had to physically go into the shop only for the owner to go hide from us to avoid confrontation. Every time we would go they would be drinking beer while working on cars. Very inconsistent changed dates/story all the time as to when the engine would get there. Tried to guilt trip us saying it was out of his pocket because of my fault that water got into the engine. Feels like they are only stalling to avoid warranty on engine which is coming to an end to probably have us pay again. We also noticed a few dents on the car that were never there we also have proof of that. Service is bad constantly raises his voice at us says to take him to court very unprofessional and inconsistent. Never communicates with what's happening we have to constantly call in order to know what's happening. It should not be taking 76 days and counting to receive an engine from an engine shop who has a good reputation that supplies local mechanic shops here. A local mechanic told us Martins shop is very sketchy and probably doesn't have a business license so he most likely would not want to refund us.

Consumer Response /* (-5, 8, 2022/11/16) */ Date: Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 11:15 PM To: ****************** Subject: Message from ******* I filed a complaint case number #******. Shop finally got back to us and gave us a date as to when they will have the car ready. Is there a way we can dispute/hold on on the process and see if the shop will hold up their deal on having the car ready? Sent from ************* (*************************) Consumer Response /* (-5, 9, 2022/11/17) */ 11/17/22 Good afternoon it looks like we will be going forward with the refund process. I stopped by and the car is not ready at all. He informed us he's putting in the 4th engine. At this point we would just like a refund. How do I proceed with that? Also as for the car can we pull the car out of the shop?
