Orange Lane Townhomes HOA located in Paramount, CA contracted Versatile Electric (****** *****) to install video surveillance cameras in our 30 Unit residential townhome community. The total cost for the cameras, receiver, conduit, smartphone app to view recorded video, etc., was included $7400.00 The invoice is attached. He requested half prior to beginning the installation. We wrote check # **** on 7/19/22 amounting to $3700.00. On 7/29/22 we paid the balance of $3700.00. All work with the exception of the wi-fi connection was complete. That work was completed by AT&T on Thursday 8/11/22. I spoke to ****** after AT&T ran the telephone line from the demarcation point across the roof of the building to the shed that houses our camera equipment. ****** said that he would be out to our complex the weekend of 8/12/22. I reached out to him on 8/15/22 to find out why the agreed-upon weekend work was not complete; ****** has made other appointments with us to complete the work and failed to do so. We have attempted to contact him via phone and email. Our calls, texts, and emails have been ignored. ****** contacted my fellow board of directions member **** ******* on Tuesday 8/30/22 and explained that he had been recovering from an accident that left him incapacitated and unable to work. He stated he would be out that week to complete the work. We never heard from him again until Tuesday 9/27/22 at which time he stated he wanted to make things right and would complete the work. He has gone back to not responding to calls or texts. We have obtained another bid from a contractor to complete the work and set up the app. We would like to be reimbursed from ****** ***** (Versatile Electric) so we can use the funds to pay the new vendor to complete the work. Requesting a refund of $900.00 + cost to finish running conduit and placing exposed internet wiring inside conduit.

I am rejecting this response because:

The job was not complete. ****** only addressed one small part of the complaint which was the internet. We have had to spend an additional $3k + to complete the job that he began, was paid for in full and never completed. The application that was to supposed to allow all owners to view the security system was never set up. The monitor that we were given by ****** was used. The system that he set up was unusable. We have had to replace cameras and wiring installed by ****** due to substandard material used during his installation. He has cost the community time and money and is unfit to provide services in the capacity he is working. Additionally, his license was suspended and therefore he should not have contracted with us. He owes us money and a formal apology for the treatment we received.
