  I was told by sales man how efficient and quiet and dependable this generator was that is totally wrong it is the loudest and most ineffective a tank of fuel should last 8 hrs WRONG it last 4 hrs there is a continuous smoke and a puffing smoke about every 10 sec it ***** your eyes I contacted the sales man and he blamed me decaused I told him when I put oil in it I put to much I checked it with the oil stick and removed the excess oil to the proper level before I ever started it up so he says I damaged it I ask for engine maker and number and he laughed said i wont get them because they are on vacation I have worked with ************* all my life and I know that this motor has injector problem it is putting to much fuel in and that is why it ***** your eyes I want a diesel generator and that is why I was willing to pay 3 times as much for it but Im not happy with this unit and very disappointed with the salesman response when I called him

  We understand that this gentleman must be upset and under a lot of pressure due to being without power from the storm.

  He bought a VERY SMALL AIR-COOLED PORTABLE ONE CYLINDER DIESEL GENERATOR! These are designed for welding, camping, and other SMALL TEMPORARY USE tasks.

  When he bought it from our dealer in *******, he was TOLD NOT TO OVER-FILL THE OIL! It's a 550cc small engine. The warning labels on the generator tell NOT TO OVER-FILL THE OIL, and so does THE OWNER'S MANUAL SAYS DO NOT OVER-FILL THE OIL OR IT WILL SMOKE! This is misuse and neglect. 3 warnings, and did he not listen. 

  We will gladly exchange the generator, he never asked for an exchange or refund. Customer only asked for technical information that was not available to us. We asked what he wants us to do about his mistake, and he asked for information that does not exist except on the Internet with Yanmar. Clearly didn't listen due to the immense stress and pressure on him to provide electricity for his suffering family. He purchased a very small cheap unit that we do not build. We only build larger water-cooled diesel generators. We had these available to help those in need for a temporary solution. We never told him that these small air-cooled generators are quiet. He is elderly and probably mixed that up with another generator that he asked for that was out of stock. 

  WE feel terrible about this and would love to replace his small air-cooled portable generator. When we asked what he wanted us to do about the engine smoking (due to his neglect of too much oil) he wanted serious technical information that can only be found online. I wish he had just asked for a replacement, now he has soiled our reputation with this silly complaint that was caused his own error. Give us a call, we will gladly replace the small cheap air-cooled single cylinder generator (not built by us).
