Stafford contacted me regarding my mother and said they had sent documents in the mail and needed to know if she received them. I told them I wasn't with her but I would let her know. I continued to ask multiple times if my name was associated with anything but they said they couldn't give out information to a third party, when they called me. They would not tell me who the "reference" was who gave them my number. I decided to get on their website and chat with them and the chat agent just left the chat. I just want to make sure my name is clear and if not I need to dispute it because of what my mother did.

We have reviewed the complaint sent in by the consumer. Our records indicate that we contacted this consumer because their number was left as a reference in the event that we couldn't get in contact with the consumer who owns the account in reference. We do not give out any information to third parties which we advised the consumer of, but they demanded that we tell them. As we had mentioned to the consumer, we only contacted them in attempts to get in touch with the person who the account belongs to. If the consumer has further questions or concerns, they may contact our office directly.

Never verified debt. Kept asking me for my personal info. After I persisted in asking what the call was for and what was the supposed debt they were calling me about they refused to answer. They kept repeating about sending it to legal. Then proceeded to say they would start calling family members and hung up. I called back to not only get 1 but 4 rude individuals back to back that would not answer any of my questions. Illegal practices at best and they can be sued since I record these phone calls. They also call from multiple numbers and continue to call even when I requested to be taken off the call list which is also illegal.

Our company has reviewed this matter and unfortunately, we must deny all allegations that are being made by the consumer. Our company is well versed in the ***** and other state and **************** regulations. We absolutely obey and adhere to all collection laws governed by the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, ********************* and the Attorney General. Our records show that we have only attempted to contact the consumer once on 01/10/2024. When we made initial contact with the consumer, they refused to verify their identity which is crucial in order to not give out confidential information to the wrong person. The consumer became unruly thus causing our representative to terminate the call and not reach out to them again. The consumer then called our office back minutes later in which a different representative answered. The consumer was adamant about not verifying who they were and became extremely difficult. The consumer was transferred to a supervisor who was better suited for the situation. Ultimately, we were unable to give the consumer further information due to being unwilling to verify their identity. As of 01/10/2024 this account has been put under a cease and desist queue. If the consumer would like to voluntarily come to a resolution over this matter, they may contact our office at any time. It must be noted, though, that the consumer needs to verify their identity for security purposes in order for our company to advise them of the details to this matter and better assist them.
