I made a dental appointment for my wife, who is covered by my dental insurance and has the same coverage as I do. She had previously had her dental x-rays 2 months prior, and this appointment was for 3 fillings that they had found. The online appt was scheduled for 4/16/24 specifically for 3 fillings. On the day of the appt, we went to the front desk and mentioned the fillings. The front desk person said, "oh we can try and get your wife in for maybe one filling, if there is time after her x-rays." We informed them that my wife had her x-rays done a few months prior, and this appointment was for the fillings. After a few minutes of checking their computer, they informed us that we were correct and my wife was seen and administered 3 *********** we were getting ready to make the next appointment and leave, we were presented with a bill for $171 ($57 for each filling). We were informed that because my wife had gotten the tooth colored/white fillings instead of the metallic filling, that we would be charged as my insurance did not cover that. I knew this was incorrect, as I had a white filling a few months prior and was not charged. They insisted and bullied us, and told us we must pay. I reluctantly did so.They then began to schedule my wife for a "deep cleaning", which involves at least $600 out-of-pocket costs (I know as I had this done myself a year prior). I said that we would just like the basic cleaning. They said "no, you can have that, since your wife was 'diagnosed' as needing the deep cleaning." They made it clear that we could not elect to have the basic insurance covered cleaning. When I examined the digital bill later, I noticed that the 3 charges were in fact all covered (D2391) by my insurance provider, *************. They listed them as "same day charges", even though the fillings were scheduled months in advance, as they incorrectly thought x-rays were to be done that day. An official grievance was filed with my insurer and is ongoing.

I am rejecting this response because: **** & ***** *********** submitted the original response, so ***** would not apply as a defense for the Missouri Flat Dental Group. This complaint can be resubmitted under the name of ***** ***********, but it will not change any of the concrete details that occurred and were submitted within said compliant. Please respond to the substance and details of the complaint instead of trying to disingenuously hide behind HIPPA.

On Dec 8, 2021 I was given an itemized estimate of $20,352.80 for dental work. After having extractions, bone grafts and a temporary denture made I canceled the implants, abutments, and overdenture because I do not want another surgery and was promised a refund for the work not completed.I was issued a refund of$10,850.80, however, based on the estimate the refund should have been $14,337.60. I have asked for an explanation of the difference and also for an itemized ****/statement, but they have furnished nothing. Now they are not returning calls or responding to e-mails. I have refrained from going to their office and requesting answers as I dont want to damage their business. I just want a refund of the $3486.80 I believe they still owe me or an explanation of why Im wrong.
