This business has cleaned our gutters numerous times and familiar with the property. We called for service and was given quoted price of $193.00 on phone. They had to reschedule due to a necessary # of employees not available that day, which we did. At that time "*****" stated because our home is tall, more men are necessary. Yesterday, June 6, 2022, Squeaky Clean arrived at which time they announced a change in the price to $401.00 from $193.00. We feel this is deceptive business practice, especially since we had a quoted price, twice, and they could have called and we could have then cancelled.

No invoice because Squeaky Clean attempted to charge double the quoted price when they arrived at our home and we are retired with a set income. I feel a verbal contract was agreed on twice on the phone and they should honor that contract with agreed price.

    Good afternoon ****************,

We are responding to complaint 17329884.

The customer's complaint states that they feel we are being deceptive in our business practices by raising our prices for their gutter cleaning. We have serviced this customer for many years. In 2019 we serviced their property and informed them at that time that the price increased. We gave them discounts at that time to match their previous pricing but let them know from then on the cost would increase. This property requires a two person team for safety.
It is our right as a business to raise our prices as we see fit to cover the increases in gas, workers compensation, auto insurance, wages and many other costs that have went up year after year. As with all of our customers, we assess the job prior to starting and give the customer the exact price, they can then approve the charges or not.
Their desired settlement requests we finish the job. First, we did not start the job as they did not approve of the price. Second, we cannot provide services to this customer anymore. They have called and harrassed my employees, cussed us out over the phone, hung up on us and yelled at our technicians while we were at their property. I would not feel right sending any of my employees back to their home for any services and they have been eliminated from our customer list.

Please let us know if you need any other information from us.

    Thank you,
    *********************

I am rejecting this response because:
We were quoted a price over the phone of $193.00 just weeks prior to the appointment. When they called to reschedule, no mention was made of an increased price and,in fact,I verified the price including the extra employee. As they stated we have been a customer over many years so they were well aware of our property. We want the job done at the price quoted and then they can eliminate us a customer. The excuses they are providing are unacceptable and not true. Thank you for your time. *****

    Good afternoon,

We are responding to the additional correspondence dated 6/23/2022 ref #********.

The customer message states they would like us to service the property and they are rejecting our response from the previous notice.

Our response: We will NOT service their property. As stated in our previous response we gave them the price on-site prior to starting any services and they declined the services. We do not owe them any labor, monies or materials. After they declined services they yelled at our employees, called our office numerous times to harass the office staff and I myself (the owner) was yelled at and cussed at by ******************. We do not feel it would be a safe environment to send anyone from our staff to their property.

    Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:
The only statement above that is the truth is Squeaky Clean employee did notify us the increased price was stated prior to work started. ***** is the employee who stated and confirmed the price of $193. with the extra employee, which is a verbal contract. When a business quotes a price, twice, and then doubles it when they arrive, particularly when familiar with the property, we feel that constitutes bait and switch, and should be reported. We want Squeaky clean to do the job they were verbally contracted to do for the price originally quoted on the phone. To say it is an unsafe environment is rediculous, considering we have hired them numerous times previously. Thank you BBB.
