    I had originally made an appointment for my two kittens to be seen for their first check up when I called the receptionist had told me that it would be 65 dollars to see them. I had my boyfriend take my kittens due to me having to work they seen my kittens and charged me almost $300 for unnecessary vaccinations that are recommended but not necessarily needed. With times going how they are I dont have extra money to spend on unnecessary items now i have to spend 10 times more to get them their actual vaccinations. When i called to speak about this with them the receptionist was rude and not helpful. After I asked to speak with the veterinarian or someone they kept hanging up on or sending me to other receptionist once someone came to the phone she told me that her manager told her to tell me something instead of coming and addressing my issue. I got mad and a little frantic. I called today to speak with the manager and she had told me you have already spoken to my staff and wrote us a review and threatened the bbb she then hung up on me because I was expressing my feelings calmly. I feel as if I was taken advantage of because we are young adults and they have no respect. It is in my right to worry about my cats and to write a review and the fact that they wouldnt help me because I wrote a review is ridiculous.

    We are very sorry you did not have a good experience at our hospital. Here at River Oak we strive to provide the best care for all of our pets and clients. This includes providing the recommended vaccinations for kittens to ensure a long and healthy life for that pet as was discussed with your boyfriend during the visit.

    I am rejecting this response because: when my boyfriend was speaking with the veterinarian they recommended a vaccine to him before doing anything to which he declined. I feel that you guys did not handle our situation correctly and that you took advantage of my boyfriend and his unknowingness. If he declined the first recommended vaccination why would he want another recommended vaccine. I do care about my kittens health but with todays economy we can only afford the minimum vaccinations that are crucial to their health. After doing my research and asking around the vaccination given was not 100% needed but recommended. The only important thing done in your guyes office was the deworming which was only $20 each. In my opinion that wasnt enough and you added more to get more money from us. Not only did you take advantage of us but your receptionist told us that it would be 60 for both kittens because they are a litter. After charging ******************************************************************************************************************************** that apparently because I had named my kittens and they were 4 months old that they would be charged separately which is absurd because I only had one appointment for my litter of kittens. It just so happens there was only two kittens in the litter if I were to of had more kittens I could only ima the **** for that. When I called to speak with a manager I was passed to 4 different people. After calling back several times I was finally able to speak with the manager ***** who ended up hanging up on me. I am currently in school to be a veterinary and the fact that I was treated this way by people I look up to just because I am of the younger generation is concerning.
