I will give two stars because they were on the ball for the first two or three years. Anytime there was an issue they would come out and fix it within a couple of days usually. The guys that came out to fix stuff for always cool. I got my system in December 2018 and I still have it right now. The last couple years have been a nightmare to deal with their operations department. The system kept shutting off and there was numerous issues that all of a sudden they didnt want to take care of. I paid my system off a few years back so the only thing I should owe is $40 to SMUD for usage. I cant get a hold of anybody now on any phone number I find for them.(Green Day Power that is) **** wants a couple hundred dollars a month because I cant get anyone to help at Green Day power. Green Day Power has taken care of the overages in the past after they went through each month with SMUD and it didnt add up. The longest sort of it is that I havent been able to get Green Day Power to help for a couple years with the overages because of broken equipment. Green Day Power has failed to come out for a while now to help with anything. My system is paid off and all I should be paying is 40 bucks a month to SMUD. Green Day Power owes me thousands by now because of inoperable equipment and not coming out to repair the equipment. If I could give this company negative stars I would. We had our solar panels installed in fall of 2022. We were told that they were up and running but in January of this year we got hit with a $7,400 PG&E bill which was based on true-up charges for our solar panels. I called PG&E and they told me it was because they were getting nothing off our solar panels. Green Day sent out a technician who determined our solar panels were never turned on! We have since made several attempts to contact Green Day for some restitution for their failure to turn on our solar panels during installation. No answer when we call and no response to the several messages we have left them. Terrible customer service!Review from William T

Promises. Promises. Promises. I bought a 12-month service contract for my 22KW ******* generator. Reluctantly, they sent a technician in March. The inspections were supposed to happen every quarter. Since March there has been no one showing up to service the machine. I called and talked with ****, ********************** Manager, in August to find out what was happening with my service. He apologized for the oversight. I told him I would at least expect a phone call to discuss their inability to meet their contractual obligations to me. He apologized again and when I told him I was going to find another dealer to service my machine, he offered me a free 12-month extension if I would agree to give them another chance. We scheduled an appointment for November 3rd. That day came and went without so much as a 'How do you do?' I sent **** an email three days later asking for an explanation and a refund. He called and left a voice mail message saying he could have a technician at my home in two days. Since I wasn't going to be home on that day I didn't return his call. Today, November 15th, he called to tell me he was no longer working for Green Day Power. He is still contracting to service the ******* machines since he is certified to do so. I told him I have made arrangements to work with a different authorized dealer because I simply can't trust Green Day Power to keep their word. And, I said, most of the promises were made to me by him. That's the end of my working with Green Day Power. No refund expected at this point because it most likely won't happen anyway. They probably don't even have my phone number any more.Review from Laurie M

What a train wreck.Company installers made wrong configuration on roof had to redo the installation. Got in a fight with my neighbor, missed inspection dates asked for me to wait while they hire a more experienced crew and now they have sent me a breach of contract asking for more money after almost 2 years. Step one bad review, step 2 report to energy commissioner.Review from Curtis L

Purchased Solar Panels back in 7/2020 they worked for about a year and then stopped working. Tried to get ahold of anyone to come fix the problem as they are all under warranty. Overpriced work and can not reach the company or get anyone to return my call. Very sad and expensive.Green Day Power Response

"Hiring the wrong contractor can be a nightmare" - ******************* < From Green Day Powers About page. Well, I hired the wrong contractor for sure. Green Day Power was an absolute nightmare to work with! From BIG holes left in my roof, to tons of parts left on my roof, to broken roof ties (that they refused to fix until I produced photos proving that they were not broken before), to multiple missed appointments, to missing city inspections. This project was a nightmare.During insulation they broke a bunch of roof tiles. We are talking 20+ and they pulled from one spot on my roof to replace the missing/broken ones. They also put big lines of caulking over different cracked tiles to fix them. The missing tiles were all on the back of the house, between two panel arrays and on the uphill side of my chimney, thus really hard to see from my property. However, due to other issues I did a detailed inspection and found the missing section of my roof. That missing section was left untouched from 2/10/22 until 3/17/22, just over a month. During that time it rained 3 times.I have seen messy contractors, however, they left broken roof tiles, bolts, nails, and other parts laying all over the roof. Some of these items I was able to take off the roof using a short ladder (I was not about to go up on the roof and have them try and say I broke a roof tile). However, some of the items (bolts, nails, and broken roof tiles) all fell off the roof due to the high winds where I live. Im just thankful that no one got hit by any of the items falling off the roof. Some of the broken roof tiles they just put a big thing of caulking over and left it. Most of the ones that they did this with were right on the front of the house above the door. Come on really? I asked that they replace those and they said they were like that already. However, I was able to produce photos from a few months prior of the roof showing the area in question was not damaged.Review from Erik P

******************* and Green Day Power, knocked it out of the park! As a salesman I found **** to be not only personable and friendly but also completely engaged throughout our install. **** maintained constant communication with me during all the pre-installation steps and actually showed up on the day of the install to introduce me to the installation crew! The crew consisted of Green Day employees, no sub-contractors, and they too were friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly hard working. My system was installed within a single day and has operated flawlessly since! Thank you ****!!!Review from Mike N.

Terrible experience. We have had the solar system for four months and come to find out it doesnt work. Also they workers who installed the roof left trash( nails, screws, debris) all over our yard and rain gutters. I have requested that they immediately address the situation but they have not responded. I am taking them to court.Review from Al S

I just completed the installation of a whole house generator by this organization. If I could give them a double 5 star rating, I absolutely would. In this day and age of shoddy service and questionable craftsmanship, this company is an absolute breath of fresh air. The owner and top lieutenant were both very hands on. But the buck didn't stop there. Literally, every one of their employees involved with my installation, I got to know on a first name basis. They are specialists that do Generators, Solar and Roofing very well. They were patient with my many questions and very skilled at their craft. Truly a no-hassle experience with this company. Highly, highly recommend them.
