The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau sent out an advisory for consumers warning them of any student loan companies that requested their federal student aid PIN number.
BBB received information that revealed that the business was requesting for consumer's PIN number. On September 12, 2016, BBB contacted the business concerning the request for access to PIN numbers. On September 13, 2016 the business responded stating that they do not request access to consumer's PIN number. BBB forwarded the information that showed the business does request for access to PIN numbers. BBB is awaiting the business's reply.
