Due to 1/22/24 flood in **************************, we hired Same Day Restoration to do mitigation work using our flood insurance policy to pay for mitigation work. They insured us they knew what they were doing, but in reality they never worked with a flood insurance policy before. Because they did not know FEMA guidelines, nor did they follow them they were slow in getting invoices to the insurance **** some invoices needed they did not have and the amount of the invoices kept changing in prices, high and low. We tried to communicate with them by telephone with **** a manager. He told us and the adjuster that further communication will be by email only. Then he had a mechanics lien placed on our property and today we received a demand letter from their attorney for $35,500.74.

I hired Same Day Restoration (SDR) for the restoration/remediation of my bathroom water damage. I was quoted $5,800 for a 5-day bathroom restoration, including 5-day drying, demo drywall/flooring/vanity/tub, treatment/sanitizing after demo. I cancelled the project early so the actual work completed scoped down to set up 2 machines to dry my home for 1 day. No demo and follow up treatment were done. However, I was over charged, billed $3,255 for just one day of drying work (set up machines only). SDR does not honor the initial good faith estimation which was the basis of the contract. Im disputing the invoice and request the billing stay with initial good faith estimation, which is in total $1352.03.Details:The original estimation is what I agreed on when I got into the contract. SDR claimed that an Estimate, and an Invoice are two completely separate things and you cannot hold Same Day Restoration liable for the estimate total in any way. The Estimate is misrepresentation. 1.Hidden fees. I was charged $1,111.47 for 1 day of work on the items that never show on the "estimate" and I was never informed of. SDR claimed that the items are standard business practice. If so, why not include them in the initial estimation? This is deceptive business practice given how high the fees are. 2.More hours than the agreed upon contract. I was quoted "4 hours" for "equipment set up, take down, monitoring" for the 5-day complete restoration. But I was charged 8 hours. 3.Machine running time. Machine set up on 7/26 then contract cancelled on 7/26. SDR should be responsible for any delay in taking down the machine instead of billing me. And SDR took down machines on 7/27 morning and the machines did not even run for 24 hrs. SDR billed 2 days which does not make sense.4.**** waived fees. I was initially billed $3,700+. The team played fool until I show them that the initial estimation that clearly marked some fees as waived after 6 days of dispute.
