We purchased stainless steel solar film for four windows in our home on 11/25/05, invoice # ****. The film came with a lifetime warranty. We paid $215 for the work. We recently noticed the film coming away from one of the windows and contacted the dealer that installed the film on 11/2/24. The installer inspected the window on 11/5/24 and took a picture of the film, She contacted us on 11/25 stating that the damage was not covered under the manufacturer's warranty as it was not due to normal wear and tear. I am not sure what would be considered wear and tear on a window tint.

An Authorized SolarGard installer applied film to all windows in my truck, paying a total of $827.21. This product comes with a lifetime warranty which I still have all of the originally documentation. The product failed, bubbled up & pealed. I reached out to the ******************* Feb 2024, spoke to *******************************, explained the issue & provided all required documentation. My warranty claim was approved & assigned to an authorized installer. The installer contacted me by phone Feb 16 informing they have been assigned to complete the warranty, but they never received the film.I reached back out to SolarGard, the originally employee was now on extended leave from the company. I was transferred to ******, ***** who started working on the claim again. After weeks of back & forth with ************** received an email asking "Which window is the film on?" I replied, The front windshield, ****** replied saying "We do not honor windshield claims. It is not legal to have your windshield tinted below 5" " I replied saying my was within the legal limits for any state. My film is clear film providing glare and UV protection only. ******* Windshield film is also posted & promoted on SolarGard social media page. Another employee, *************************** replied flat out falsely accusing me of having "illegal" tint, this employee does not even have any knowledge of what type of tint has been installed on my vehicle, nor did they ask about my medical needs. It's an out of line completely false accusation in an attempt to simply deny warranty claim. This company is in clear violation of breach of Warranty, T&C clearly outline "all" films are covered without any added exclusion for tint applied to a "windshield".I am asking for an immediate resolution to replace the failed tint under warranty as SolarGard originally authorized & promised Feb 2024. I have records of all written correspondence.

On Sep 5, ****, i brought my car to get the windows tinted at a tint shop located on ***********************, **. Before I bought the tint i spoke with the guy about the warenty, i was concerned because i was on active duty, and knew i would only be there a set amount of time before i moved. I was assured that the company who manufactures the tint(Solar Guard) warrenties there product for lifetime, and it is good nationwide at any authorised dealer. Since the time of instlation the windows have developed many small bubbles between the glass and film making it difficult to see, there are also a couple places on the rear window where the tint is seperating from the glass. I contacted Solar Guard last week on or about 8/30/2022 in reguard to this issue. the repersentitive offered to send me a check for $250 after she spoke with othere deales in the area, and they told her the job would cost $400. I told her i woud get back to her with an answer. I spoke with the local shop, and they explaned to me that it would cost about $200 in labor to remove the old tint, and another $200 to replace the tint. When I spoke to the represinitive she explained that $250 was $100 over what I paid to have the windos tinted, and that was all i was authorized to recieve, and the shop that originally did the work is no longer in buisness...The fact that the shop is not in buisness is irelivant seeing as it is in **********. I am not going to drive **** plus miles to get my windows re tinted. I was sold a tint job w/ a life time warrenty that is supposed to be honored nation wide meaning the int should be fixed at no cost to me, by one of there dealers. There local dealer is willing to do the work, just not at the price they are willing to pay. This to me seems like a simple solution, pay your dealer what it takes to do the job.
