    the company fronts like your adding money to a savings for the future and while doing so you helping your credit score, but not one ***** payment to kickoff savings account reflected onto my credit score, but as soon as I stopped due to no longer able to send to the savings they began sending negative ***orts so I canceled and requested my money be refunded and they are stating they are keeping my money for the Serice provided, but they did not provide any service at all, i advised the *** that i cannot afford to just give away ******. i asked to speak with a supervisor and she put me on hold and never came back. she first said there was no one but herm when i threatened her with filing a complaint with BBB then she told me to hold while she got a supervisor but never returned to the call. I just want my ****** I'm a single mom of 3 and trying to fix my credit for the future of my children, i cannot afford a loss this big

    I am rejecting this response because: they are keeping my ****** when they had me thinking I was putting this to save, weve confirmed they were not doing what was expected I closed the account and requested my money back they told me that they were keeping it for tor services provided and this I did not agree to this I  feel mislead and scammed. I cannot afford to just give away money for no apparent reason and this would be for no reason because there was no service provided other than holding on to my money

    Thank you for reaching out. Id like to provide clarification regarding your Kikoff Credit Account and the Credit Builder Loan, as well as address your concerns.

    When you sign up for Kikoff, you receive a credit line that is reported to the three major credit bureaus. This serves as the Credit Account. Depending on the plan you choose, a balance is charged to the credit line, creating payments over a 12-month period. Your payments are reported monthly to the credit bureaus, contributing positively to your credit history. Having a credit line in your profile can also help reduce overall utilization, diversify your credit mix, and build payment history, which are significant factors in your credit score. Its important to note that Kikoffs credit account does not come with a physical or virtual card.

    As part of our compliance with strict lending rules and regulations, we are required to report accurate payment activity to the credit bureaus. For this reason, the payments in question cannot be refunded. We understand this may not be the outcome you were hoping for, and we appreciate your understanding of our commitment to compliance.

    The Credit Builder Loan you opened on 05/04/2024 had a loan amount of $120, with monthly payments of $10 over a 12-month term. This serves as the "savings account." Upon successful completion of the Credit Builder Loan, all funds paid into the account are returned back to the member, ensuring that your commitment to credit-building also includes financial rewards. Unfortunately, this loan was closed due to non-payment on 09/03/2024 as no payments were received.

    Hello Makyule, 

    We have received your complaint, both from CFPB and BBB in which they were under the same foundation claiming the account wasn't yours or wasn't created by you. We do take these claims seriously and have reviewed the application process, and also considered any new information provided in your recent dispute. Unfortunately based on this latest internal investigation of the account verification and approval process, there is insufficient evidence to support removal of this tradeline.

    In your complaint you advise that you did not open or authorize the account. To be approved for a Kikoff loan/credit account, an applicants identity/personal information must be verified, including name, DOB, address, and SSN. In the case of this account, we have reviewed and reconfirmed the verification process of the information provided during account signup back in 11/28/2023, all of which matched. The information used to open the account is also consistent with your FTC report that was attached. Here at Kikoff we require both email and phone to be verified upon account creation through multifactor authentication and see that it was done so successfully. 

    Additionally, during the application process you acknowledge our terms electronically. This too  is a requirement in order to proceed with the account. We do sympathize with your situation, and would take action if the evidence indicated a different result, but we are also responsible to report accurate information - which in this case does appear to be accurate.

    They've been taking money from me for months and giving false and inaccurate information claiming this information was from the 3 credit bureaus.(********, transunion,etc.) When I wrote to them asking where they got thus information from they continued to lie. I have screen shots of everything from receipts to monthly credit scores they were claiming were true and transcripts of customer service *** lying when asked. I was so happy and invested my time and money thinking they were telling me the truth only to find out I have been wasting my precious time. I'm devasted as I've been trying to fix my credit for my children so that I can get them a place to live and get a car to drive them to school and the doctor. I'm a single mother and they have robbed me. Please i need a lawyer pro **** who can help me with this. Please contact me ************ thank you.

    This account was initially made help increase my credit score. After making the account I was never able to login again which meant that payments werent made but I had no possible way to make a payment due to the fact that they said that the account never existed.
