Dear all,This is a complaint regarding disinformation, lack of transparency and fraudulent billing for health care services provided. I believe this practice violates the "No Surprise Act" of ******* child was referred to a cardiologist in August 2024, for a routine check up.On 09/19/24 we went for an appointment at ************************************ ********************* in ********** the registration, I inquired specifically what our total charge would be for the visit, given my insurance information. The answer from a receptionist was "$20". Since my child never had any health concerns, this sounded reasonable to me. I paid the $20 co-pay on the spot.Later that month we received a bill for $373.00, dated 09/24. This was our portion due after insurance payment of $1,505. I called **** billing team on 9/27 to let them know that this was significantly higher than the estimate we were given at the clinic, and received a confirmation from the operator that the visit was paid in full, after paying the bill. This bill was paid on-line in the amount of $393.00 (I believe they double-charged us the co-pay of $20 as well) on 9/27.A month later, we received another bill for $450.32 for the same visit, dated 10/24. I called **** billing on 10/25 for explanation, they advised to call my insurance company (*****). I called Cigna the same day, they were unable to explain the second charge, and promised to investigate with **** billing. I am still awaiting the results of this **************** the meantime, our bill has increased to $526.52, again with no explanation or any apparent reason (the initial bill is not overdue yet). This well-child checkup was estimated at $20, and is currently billed at $899.52 to us, and about $9K including insurance payment. This is unacceptable.Thank you for your time and consideration. Please let me know if you have any questions.Have a great day,***** Dvoiris.
