I contacted this business after getting locked out of my apartment and searching for local locksmiths. They had a high search result and advertised arriving within 10 minutes. When I called, the dispatcher took my information and said someone would be there in ***** minutes. I mentioned the advertised 10 minutes and she said it was often faster than 30. I asked her how much it would cost and she said $29 plus labor, though I would later see the website advertised $19. Around 20 minutes later the locksmith arrived, and told me that he would try to pick the lock, then pop the door, and if that failed to drill the lock, which would be twice as expensive though a price wasnt mentioned. He attempted to pick the lock for about 10 minutes, then attempted to wedge something to pop the door for another few before saying he was going to have to damage my door or drill the lock, because it was not possible to pick the lock. I told him I was not going to drill the lock and he became upset, repeating it wasnt possible to pick the lock and asking how would I get into the apartment and did I think he liked drilling locks. I repeated I wasnt going to drill it, and said I would call someone else. He then told me it was going to be $89 for the job he didnt complete, and that I had to pay *****. His Venmo barcode was pre-set to friends and family purchases and there was no option for me to pay with credit card, despite the company website saying cards were accepted. I wanted him to leave my apartment so I completed the payment and called another locksmith, who had the lock picked within two minutes. This company overcharged, under delivered, falsely advertised, and forced payment with no consumer protections. I would like to be partially reimbursed for this bait and switch job, and hope no one else falls for their high search result ranking.

    - Amount: $335.00 - What Business Committed: Business website claims that service should cost $19 + quote of equipment repair / replacement.- Nature of Dispute: Billing Adjustment due to faulty advertising - Description: I requested a residential locksmith service to open my locked front door. The website says Our repair technician will visit the site, perform a service inspection andcomplete the quote if any replacement parts and additional repair services are required. on-top of a $19 service fee. The repairman comes to my door and begins working on the door, but right before he says that the job will cost about $250 and the $19 service fee. The repairman easily unlocked the door using a simple lock pick that required no replacement or repair of equipment. The total overall still came out to be $335.00 (much more than $250 for the job and $19 service fee)
