I am a longwithstanding patient with Well Coast. Two months ago, they entered wrong information regarding my new health insurance into their system, which resulted in my claims being denied, and then proceeded to charge me the full amount from my bank account without any notice at all. They then delayed in resubmitting the claim, causing me to spend several hours on the phone trying to get the issue resolved, and it took months to get the money credited back to checking account.I am also experiencing significant delays in getting prescriptions refilled. I am currently in the middle of a state of emergency with the wildfires/evacuations in *******************, and this is impeding my ability to get much needed medical care.

I'm a patient with this provider, and have been for a long time. I provided them with a new medical card, and they used the OLD provider number, causing the claim to be denied. Without informing me, they deduced $195 from my checking account, have refused to fix the error and have not returned any calls from either me or Blue Shield.

I am trying to settle my balance directly and they are ignoring my voicemails, responding only by text message. My provider left the clinic without anyone even telling me. She sent me an expired zoom link for one of our last appts and when no one showed up, I made sure to call the clinic and leave several messages so they knew I wasn't absent, and there was a mistake with the zoom link. They slapped me with a $195 no-show fee (which I was never notified of) and I wasn't able to dispute it since my psychiatrist up and left. They deactivated my account (also without written or verbal notice) and flagged my account for collections. They also denied me treatment by a different psychiatrist and refused to fill my prescription until I paid the erroneous charge. They are totally impossible to reach, which in hindsight is likely by design. I must have left 6 voicemails (and called maybe 10+ times) over the past two weeks and all they could do was send me a text back saying to contact the collections agency. I would have thought they had enough courtesy to speak to me and explain the situation. Prior to this, I was able to reach someone in their offices on 6/11 and they unlocked my account to settle the balance. I needed to update the card on file and when I tried to do so, I was locked out again. I then made the 10+ attempts to reach them, and was only dignified with a text message telling me to take it up with collections. Talk about helping people... It's very apparent that nobody working here cares about mental health. The only goal in mind is trying to make money off their patients. Very shady billing practices. And others have reported the same in online reviews. Lastly, I felt that they were very pushy about medication. Offering very freely to write me more prescriptions than my current one, without much qualification. Very scary, especially considering the current drug epidemic in our country.

I was referred to this telemedicine psychiatry office Well Coast Medical by my PCP. At the time I was an employee at ********************* and had ************************* with Scripps. When I made my appointment over the phone I gave them with all my insurance information including my credit card information due to their cancellation policies. It wasnt until after my first 3 appointments that I checked my bank account and saw ************************** had been charging my credit card instead of going through my insurance directly. Over three weeks, three appointments I was charged $950.I reached out asking them to correct their mistake and informed me my insurance was out of network and I would be Self Pay. I verified with my insurance company that I am covered and that WellCoast is mistaken. I emailed WellCoast back saying yes I am covered and provided my insurance information again. All they had to say was I had to file a claim with my insurance company and have insurance pay them before they would reimburse me. My insurance company processed this request within two weeks and Well Coast stopped answering my emails and was never able to speak to someone on the phone. My insurance company suggested they file a complaint against them to expedite the process and agreed it was sketchy behavior. This process took months. While they were ignoring my calls/emails I would get notifications daily of them billing me in my portal for appointments with incorrect dates and what looked like made up data. I screenshotted everything because I knew they would go ahead and delete their original billing to cover there false practices. After many months and many more billing errors, I was refunded the money and never went back again. I never got an explanation or apology after requesting someone call me and explain several times. On top of that the psychiatrist diagnosed me with ADHD just from listening to me and pushed medication on me after I said I wanted to try alternates.

I need Well Coast to transfer my medical records to my current provider. I was seeing Well Coast from 2018 - 2022. I need my records transferred to my provider in order to have it reviewed and get my medication. I have followed up many times over the last 4-6 weeks. They said it would take 2-4 weeks, then when 2 weeks passed, it's 4-6 weeks, then today they said it usually takes 6-8 weeks. Basically, they're lying and refusing to transfer my records over. It never takes this long to get records transferred from my previous experiences.(I think they're hiding something, like their sketchy practices with overprescribing medications and providers mysteriously leaving the practice. Although this is just my hunch and I don't have any hard evidence.)

I made an appointment with a health care provider at Well Coast, my appointment was for 11/02/2022 at 10:00AM, I cancelled the appointment on 10/31/2022 at 9:13AM, I have a text message showing the cancellation with no mention of charges I would incur. On 12/01/22 I received an invoice for $400, stating I had a late cancellation. Well Coast Cancellation policy states that cancellations within fewer than two working days would result in a $300 fee. My cancellation was made within two full days as requested. I made several attempts to reach via phone, the only communication I have received has been via email or text. I was told this billing was going to be sent to review, today I received a note saying the invoice stands and it was adjusted to $300. There has been no acknowledgment of the higher fee or why I am being charged at all considering I cancelled 2 full working days in advance.
