Took my engine to this guy in mid December 2021, asked him how long it would take and he said about 2 months. I called him back in 2 months and found that he hasn't touched it. Waited another month and still nothing. I called him again and he got animated over the phone asking me not to keep calling him, although I was calling about once every 2 weeks. He did not touch my engine till about 5 months after he got it, obviously doing it on purpose cause I dared ask him when it will be finished. He was done in about 6 months. Went to pay and get the engine out only to find that he had changed the estimate he gave me and added another $650 to it. I asked him about the increase and he blamed it on the mechanic who is supposed to put the engine back in the car saying that he called him and asked him to "complete" the engine. I asked what that meant and he did not give an explanation. I tried calling the mechanic but could not get hold of him. Now my choices were to refuse to pay and call the police and see if I can get the engine out of there or just pay and come back for my money. So I paid him and filed a complaint with the ARB. They investigated the case and ruled in my favor. He refused to pay at first but when I threatened legal action he paid me back. After the engine was put back in the car it was making a ticking noise. I took it to 2 different mechanics trying to figure out what could be causing that ticking noise, but there was nothing visible by inspecting the accessible parts and they both said it is coming from deeper down. Now the engine has to be taken out again and taken apart to find the problem. I went to see of he would honor the warranty but he refused and got animated and was accusing me of "robing" him when he was trying to help me out. I would advise anyone who is remotely considering using this shop to work on their engines to stay away as go anywhere else. Worst experience I had dealing with any automotive shop.
