Unfortunately our loved ones remains were sent here from the convalescent home, not by our choice. We have not had to use this kind of service before and honestly had not clue what to do. When meeting with the counselor he gave us 3 options cremation. 1. to pay $2,100 almost 3xs the amount of other places, use a fund and pay it back to get the remains or do nothing and the county would take control, again with no remains and would not get a death certificate. After the meeting We were to be sent paper work with the information so we could make our decision. After not getting it that day we had to call repeatedly to get. When we called to ask other general questions and about laws (not told to us before) we got 1/2 answered responses. Most importantly if we wanted to have another Funeral home deal with the remain would there be a charge to move the remains? and the answer was a definite NO. Unfortunately that was not that case when we decide to move the remains to another funeral home, They then wanted to charge $$ a fee. And stated that I miss understood. They said That if no one claimed responsibility for the remains then there would be no charge to move the body. Im sorry, but if no one claimed the body, why would I ask or need to know about a charge? Thats make no since! In the end they did honor what was said originally, but the experience in a whole was frustrating and disappointing. At a time when we should have been mourning our loved one, we were having to deal with nonsense. I gave 2 stars cause they did honor what they said in the end (after comparing of course) and the counselor was always nice over the phone.
