My water heater broke on September 27, 2021. I had water damage that affected my garage and some of the interior of my home. I hired Scope to repair the damage. They started the repair work in December and have yet to complete the work. It is now May. They sent me a schedule for work that would be done. That work has not been completed plus other work that now needs to be corrected or repaired due to their sloppy and unprofessional work ethics. I have added just a few pictures to show some of the damage their company has done and also trash that I had to remove which sat in my garage for two months. I requested they send someone out to look at the work and to go over the scope of work to be done. I haven't heard back from anyone. I still owe a balance due them that will be paid after everything has been done to my satisfaction and with some adjustments.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/06/02) */ We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience the time delays have caused you. We stand behind the quality of our work and are working diligently to correct items, damages and other concerns. We intend to have all correction completed no later than June 16th. We appreciate the opportunity to make this right. Consumer Response /* (2000, 10, 2022/06/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Consumer Response /* (3000, 16, 2022/07/19) */ ***Document Attached*** Scope Environmental damaged my Silhouette window treatment when they painted my house due to water heater damage. They are now telling me that the dining room area was not authorized to be painted, which is where the window blind is, and they will not reimburse me for it. There was absolutely no supervision on the premises for the job that was being done. The supervisor came one time AFTER I complained that someone needed to come to see the kind of work being done. At that time the painting was complete. However, they did send in a second crew to repaint some of the splotchy and unfinished areas that the first crew didn't do correctly. No one said anything at that time about the dining room not being part of the work order. The work done was sloppy and with little consideration to my property. I have paint drippings on my carpet, light fixtures, window sills, light switches, stairway banister, tile, furniture, plants, etc. This was just some of the incompetent work that was done. In checking with my insurance company they did have the dining room area in their work report and has since sent me a supplemental check for the painting. If the dining room was not painted it would have been a noticeable difference since all the walls are connected. Scope also requested a copy of their work order that I emailed to them. Scope is saying they do not want the money nor will they pay for the blind. Pretty much everything that they told me has been a lie. This is one of the reasons I decided I would only communicate through emails. I have my backup. Also, their worker did check in with the company when he did something so I'm assuming he got authorization since the painting had been done. This company has been very negligent and unethical in their dealings with me. They have been unorganized with no supervision for the workers. At the time I hired them I asked how long the job would take and I was told 2 - 3 weeks. We are now eight months into the repairs. Business Response /* (4000, 18, 2022/08/04) */ We sincerely regret the delays that occurred during the repair process at your home and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. During the last 2 years of unprecedented times the work force and labor availability have been completely unpredictable. We are grateful for your understanding and opportunity to allow us to complete corrections to all aspects of the approved and signed scope of work. To address the dining room. It is possible that the original estimate we submitted to the insurance company included the dining room in the scope of repairs. However that version was not approved and the adjuster requested we remove that section from the estimate as he would not be covering those expenses. The finally approved repair estimate was then sent to you along with a schedule of payments for your review and approval. The repair coordinator reviewed the scope of work with you over the phone and you signed the documents in agreement. I will not speculate on when or who painted your dining room and possibly damaged the blinds, all I have knowledge of is that we neither discussed painting the dining room, nor collected payment for it, nor have any photos showing we performed painting in the dining room as such we are not responsible for the damage to the blinds. Consumer Response /* (4200, 20, 2022/08/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) They never got a denial from the insurance company. Only one repair schedule was sent and I sent it because they never did, which delayed the repairs to my home. And that repair schedule was approved. I didn't even know nothing had been sent until I received a call from the insurance adjuster asking for it. I called and had them send the repair order to me so I knew for a fact it would be sent to the insurance company. Also, why would my insurance company deny the painting of the dining room if it was on the insurance repair order. These are the lies I keep running into. I asked for a copy of the denial from *****, the insurance company, but Scope has never responded or produced a copy or anything from *****. ******** from Scope asked me to send a copy of the repair report from the insurance company to their office so they can compare the reports, per her email to me. She nor anyone from Scope mentioned a discrepancy. I was reimbursed for the dining room from the insurance company and Scope refused the payment when I offered it. I have since filed a complaint with the CSLB. Again, the people sent to my home do the repairs were employees of Scope. If these people were incompetent or lacked supervision that isn't on me. Someone needs to take responsibility and since I am not on their payroll it should be the employer. I have since noticed paint on some slats of my wood shutters. They have yet to address this.
