I paid ***** for a new vinyl convertible top with glass, to be installed on my car, a 2 day job.... Plus I paid for weatherstripping separately out of own pocket. Which was supposed to be apart of the ****** The new top has sagging parts in vinyl that with cause water damage, top doesn't seal right. Weatherstripping installed incorrectly. top has wrinkles, he has broken 2 parts, one broken part *** I bought and he installed. Other part is original and company does not make a replacement. I can not open or close the top by myself anymore. He scratched the paint on my car. I have asked him to please finish the adjustments to the top to make the top usable and water proof. He refused, and has wasted my time and money for over a month, when the job should have been a 2day job to complete. I ask for my money back less the amount for the vinyl and glass, he refused. Tells me to bring the car in to fix but when I showed up he refused to fix and took pictures of car instead of fixing. Was told by his grandfather on site to "take them to the Supreme Court" when I said that they were doing "bad business" by not finishing the job. I left with the car after they said they wouldn't finish the job. Car still has broken original latch part. With no replacement. I would like ****** back so I can have the car finished by a different business. Please.

    Business response

    08/11/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/06/08) */ On 3/22/22 Ms. ******* came to my business to get an estimate for a manual vinyl convertible top (not electrical) . She told me she wanted to replace the vinyl top and she prefer a glass window instead of the thick plastic window convertibles usually have. I told her that plastic was prefer but I can put a glass window if she wanted . I then inspected the the top and let he know that the weatherstripping needed to be replace, I immediately told her I don't supply car parts and she agreed to buy them elsewhere . I'm not responsible for the weatherstripping performance and for any water damage since I didn't provide them. Ms. ******* agreed to my price and agreed for me to work on her car. When I began working on the car, I then notice that the passenger convertible latch was broken, I took a picture and txt Ms. ******* and notified her that that part needed to be replace. I remainder that I don't supply car parts and she need it to order it elsewhere. She agreed to order the part and that pushed the job about a week out. As soon as I received the part I began working on her car. When the car was finished she came to pick it up and I went over my work . I showed her how to manually open and close the convertible top . She seem satisfied with my work and paid the invoice and left . A week later she came to my business and accused me of scratching her car . I told her it was impossible an I was not responsible . There was no mention of the convertible top . Another week later Ms. ******* called and said that I need it to return her money because I had scratch her car and she now had to get it repainted, I told her I was not responsible and wasn't going to return her money back. She later showed up to my business and demanded for me to return her money because I had damage her car. ( again no mention of the convertible top ) I told her I was not going to return her money because I wasn't responsible for an older car that had signs of wear. She then left my business. I been in business for over 30 years and never had an issue like this , never had such an unsatisfied customer like Ms. *******. I take pride on my work and I have many years of experience and hundreds of returning customers. Convertible tops are on my popular request . I have attached before and after pictures. I also have video of me carefully working on the car. I don't owe Ms. ******* anything. ************ ( owner ) Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/06/20) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I have texts complaining the top won't open or close, wrinkled vinyl that needs to be stretched tighter and that water will get though the wrinkled parts. The weatherstripping is not a product problem, but that he installed the weatherstripping improperly. Business Response /* (4000, 15, 2022/07/07) */ I have attached picture's showing how the car doors do not close properly and are uneven when the doors are shut. This causes for the windows to have gaps. Mrs. ******* stated in her Fists complain that she had "water damage", on her second responds she said that "it can cause water damage" . I can clearly read that her complain is questionable and untrue .The top has a 2 year warranty of any manufacture malfunction. I stan by the product I use and my workmanship . Im also contracted by a company who does entertainment designs and use top quality material and expensive cars. If Mrs. ******* had an issue she should have come and we could have discus any issues and came to an agreement. I believe my work was worth the amount she paid and I don't owe her any money in return .. I have over 30 years of experience and never had an unsatisfied customer . ************ (owner) Consumer Response /* (4200, 17, 2022/07/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I have went back and forth with company before filing complaint. They wasted my time and money for over a month, he refused to fix broken parts, sagging unsecured vinyl, trim excessive vinyl, it took 4 people to try and open the convertible top at his shop. When in reality... should one take one person to open the top!! I also have pictures of our texts, and still nothing has been resolved. He doesn't even respond to complaint timeline, showing he doesn't take the *** seriously. I want this resolved asap!
