In March of 2024 we contacted OLIVERS TILE, for shower tile work. We met and discussed the project. His knowledge was impressive and his pricing was reasonable, so we moved forward. He asked for a deposit of 10% to secure our spot in his schedule. We gave him a check for $900.00 on 3/15/24.We then paid $1250.00 on 3/19/2024 for demo and haul away of material. The work was done promptly and professionally. ******* ****** recommended we purchase through ********** tile in **********. It was clear that he was a regular there so we felt comfortable having him place the order for us. We paid him $1,756.85 on 4/18/2024 for reimbursement of the tile. We used a plumber recommended to us by ******* ******. The quality of the work was poor, mistakes were made. The work had to be redone by ****** and us, the homeowner. We were charged and extra for the time to fix the work. $650.00 was paid to OLIVERS TILE on 6/5/24 for the redo of plumbing and ************, ******* ****** asked for 50% of the total cost so that he could buy materials. We paid him $3,550.00 on 6/19/2024. The shower was prepped in foam board and the shower pan was completed. This would be the last time we would see ******* ******, leaving the shower about 30% complete. We had also not seen the tile that we purchased on 4/18/2024. We have sent countless texts, emails and phone calls to OLIVERS TILE. He responded with estimations of when he would return, all of which fell through. Finally we requested he reimburse us for incomplete work. He told us that a check had been placed in the mail. We have not seen this check. ******* ****** claimed he had unexpected life events during our project. His communication about this was poor at best and, for the most part, non-existent. Seven months later, our shower remains unfinished and ****** still has $8,000.00 of our money. Help us ensure that he doesn't do this to others. And help us get back our money. Kindly, ***** and **** ******.
