************************************************** is a general contractor that contracted to do a bathroom remodel project in our home. He came to our home in January and gave ** an estimate on the job. He had photos in his phone of his work and reference information for past customers. He quoted ** $15,500 for the project and said that would cover materials and labor. On February 13th he came over and shared with ** an electronic contract with and itemized list of the work he was going to complete during the project. He required 60% up front ($9,300) to cover the cost of materials. That evening we wrote him a check. Since that time we have had limited contact with him. He took off with our money. He has promised to return the money several times only to never show up or call. We found out he was scamming ** because we went to the tile shop where he was supposed to get materials. He had never purchased any materials. He also claimed to have purchased a tub which allegedly cause a delay in his ability to return the money. That was not true either. There wasn't a receipt or tub provided. In general, we are now suing him in small claims court. DO NOT USE E&L RESTORATION - ******* IS A *****!
