My husband and I have moved 6 times and Johnson United Moving of ******** was the worst experience we have ever encountered. Johnson United demonstrated egregious misconduct, negligence, breach of contract, significant property damages and logistical chaos. Using this company was a nightmare!Review from Marissa N

I am moving to a different state and had never dealt with an out of state move before. We were referred to Mayflower transit moving company and through them found Johnson ***************************** company. We called and got a virtual evaluation and quote. The quote was for a higher price than anticipated and when asked about it the representative said that there is a 10% leeway in either direction. She also pressured us saying that no one would be able to move us at such a quick date and that the quote NEEDED to be confirmed within hours of our evaluation. So of course being stressed about the time crunch we confirmed under the impression that when our stuff was weighted the price would be changed accordingly. $7000+ was based solely on the estimated weight of our belongings with an additional $1000+ in moving fees. Our overalls weight was 1222lbs under their quoted price and they labeled it as slightly underweight, which was more than the 10% leeway. The representative who pressured us into saying yes neglected to tell us that it was a binding quote and that the price would not be adjusted no matter how grossly overestimated the quote was. Then when the address in the other state was confirmed I called to tell them where to ship it under the impression that our belongings were on the way to our new state but found out they also neglected to tell me that they automatically stored my belongings in the current state we are moving from and wouldnt be able to ship it in a minimum of 7 additional days. I am now without my belongings for a longer period of time then quoted which was 7 days once picked up too 2-3 weeks. I called to speak with a manager and was reassured that I would receive a call back and Ive been waiting for +24 hours. I have to start a new job and now I will need to spend additional money and necessary items to perform my job duties. This company refuses to listen to my concerns and only answers back with you signed the contract. Worse company ever.Review from Theresa M

Used this company to move heavy items, from our sons home to a storage 1/2 mile up the road,& move the refrigerator from the old home 1 mile to our home so it would not be in storage. We were told there would be 3 movers by **** and only 2 showed up. The ************** King *** were the heaviest items& both received damage. The Mattress was taped to tight& left a crease in it but we did not ask for compensation. The refrigerator, on the other hand is the biggest problem. The doors are not shutting even and the caster at the bottom has been broken off. I called Jill&she sent the owner, **** out after many attempts to get this settled. We had a professional repair company that stated in writing the cabinet of the unit is bent from the move. These 2 movers were so rough with our items they jammed the refrigerator over & over through the front door, trying to get it out without taking the door off the hinge. I asked them are they sure they can get it and the tall thin lady said yes, we have this. Well they didn't. They finally backed it up and took the door off, after the damage was done.**** the owner&his wife then came to our home with there repair man that said it was not repairable after they wanted to rig it up with washers.My husband told him it wasn't going to happen.This unit is only 8 months old & we pd ******** & that was on a sale. They admitted the damage but sent us a check for ******. This is not acceptable nor fair& to top this off the young lady mover that came was 1HR late went to wrong location she said,was late and when we asked what she was asking us to sign she said just that we are moving you and nothing important,What a lie she told.Our son initialed in all these blank spaces yes we should have read,but she was in such a rush sign here sign here initial here is all she kept saying as she was laughing.What a company. Poor business.We never got a copy of anything all she said is we email to you. *** received them last week.Don't do people this way.Review from Steven A

We made a deal for a flat amount per crate. I used graph paper to display exactly how to fit everything into the crate. The packers chose to do it their way and at the end we needed a 2nd crate (which cost the extra $800). The packers admitted that if they had done it my way all would have fit in 1 crate. I have pictures to show the first crate was 1/2 full and only a freezer was in the 2nd crate. They told me that since there was only 1 item the company would work with me on the price and I chose to not make them empty everything out and repack. Prior to delivery the ran my cr. card for the extra crate and when I tried to cancel, they showed my agreement to pay per crate. They ignored what the packers said, they ignored the pictures that I had, and M/C went off what the contract said. I was trying to be nice and not make the packers do extra work. The company lied when I was told "they would work with me". If you choose to use this company be aware of their "loose packing" scheme and empty promises. Even the people that unloaded upon delivery where surprised at how empty the first crate was.Review from Heather T

Using this company was a horrible mistake. They had another load on with mine and did not use a separating wall so they took off with 8 wardrobe boxes, 3 outdoor tables and some other assorted boxes. When I asked to track the somewhat unqualified driver and the "coordinator" made is sound like she couldn't get a hold of him. I just wanted her to call the next person on his route to ask about my stuff - seems reasonable but apparently they couldn't be bothered. Of course I filed a claim and they were very placating but I am pretty sure they will not honor it. They also broke a tv that they packed and the contact person (referral from Coldwell Banker) told me it wasn't their problem because they didn't pack it even though it was on the list of items that I paid for them to pack. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY- AT LEAST NOT IN **************. Moving is stressful enough without an extremely WELL PAID company making it harder....Use PODS or UPack.Review from Vincent C

I regret to say that my experience with Johnson Storage & Moving Company fell far short of expectations, especially given their high pricing compared to competitors. I assumed the higher cost would guarantee premium service, but this has not been the case.Initially, I wasn't even provided with a transit time for my move to ******. It was only after pressing the company for details that I was told it would be between ***** days. As the days ticked by, however, I was informed that the delivery might take up to 45 days. After lodging a formal complaint, they managed to bring it down to 31 days, but the delay was still beyond what could be considered reasonable.Adding insult to injury, I made multiple attempts to speak with the agent responsible for my move, requesting callbacks on several occasions. None of my requests were honored, leaving me frustrated and without crucial information. I only got answers after writing directly to the VP!When my belongings finally arrived, they were merely dropped off at my doorstep without the unpacking assistance that I had paid for. This was an incomplete service, and given the premium price, it felt like a breach of our agreement.In summary, my experience with Johnson Storage & Moving Company has been extremely disappointingmarked by poor planning, a lack of communication, and incomplete service. The premium price did not translate into premium service, and I cannot, in good faith, recommend this company to others.PS: the movers that initially came were really nice and efficientReview from Jerry G

Johnson United in ****** ** assessed the risk of the items I had at my house and advised me to move my own **** ******** and other fragile items but never assessed risk associated with moving my $4,000 mattress. It is 10 years old and when the Johnson United Team moved it the inside of the memory foam mattress moved to one side and the mattress was destroyed. Their team stored the mattress on its side and unpacked it in the living room. They rolled it end over end and around a corner to the bedroom when there was a straight, direct path into the bedroom 20 ft away. The Johnson moving company sold me full replacement insurance for about $500 and declined any responsibility for destroying the mattress and paid me NO compensation whatsoever declaring the age of the mattress as the issue. Johnson United, the experts that are taking no responsibility, could have told me to move it myself but they they said it was no issue beforehand. I bought a $2,600 mattress and asked for at least the cost of the insurance back but they said no.Review from Allie H

This company is a joke. My fiance has worked at the Cheyenne ******** for shorter than a week and so far hes been threatened by 4 different employees saying theyd jump him for no reason and the manager got mad at him. The manager is a coke head who sits outside the job site getting drunk on white claws then driving the trucks drunk. He had my fiance drive all over promising to fill up our gas tank, and then when he was supposed to meet him at the gas station he never showed up. I cant go get my medication and I missed an important dinner with my parents because we have no gas left. They have a hole punched in the front door that is covered up with a Rambo sticker. This branch is run by a drug addict that treats it like his own personal frat house, and I do not know how they are still in business.Review from Karen L

I have paid professional movers several times throughout my life and this move has left a lot to be desired. First off, the estimate was way off, by over a thousand dollars. They movers charged me ****** extra to package and wrap a reptile enclosure which they wound up breaking anyway. The marred several pieces of furniture, lost the hardware to my bed frame, and then charged extra to bring my belongings up outdoor steps even though half of everything went into the basement at ground level. Each extra charge was transacted through a personal Vento or Cashapp account. They have you speaking with multiple people/movers so that nobody can be held accountable. One says call this person, another says call that person....etc. A lot of the boxes had been crushed. It was just very sloppy and they will charge you extra for every little thing so read the fine print. Every thing in the fine print....you will be charged for if at all possible!! I wish the system allowed negative stars. Worst experience ever dealing with this company. Even after escalating my concerns to the United corporate office, filing a complaint with the CO ************************** and the ****** this company was allowed to conduct business in a very unscrupulous manner with no accountability. After a recommendation from my realtor, I contracted with Johnson to complete a cross country move, with my belongings needing to be stored for a month after pick-** in ******** before delivery to my final destination - after my experience I advised my realtor to never recommend Johnson again. After my belongings were picked up and held in storage, and I had moved over **** miles away, Johnson increased my price over $6K for delivery to my final destination. I was forced to find other movers to take over the job and deliver my belongings, still resulting in moving expenses over $4K beyond what I originally contracted with Johnson. BUYER BEWARE, please understand the nature of this company. During one of my phone conversations with Johnson, their own employee stated to me that what the company was doing was extortion. Protect yourself in every measure possible.
