Well over a year ago we were given a quote to demo our old deck and build a better one. We were told construction would start around September/October and be complete by Thanksgiving. Instead what happened after they received a lot of deposit money was to continue making excuses as to why they were delayed. That add insult to injury they started demo Dec 6, the day my wife came home from major back surgery to recover. You can imagine how well that went for her. Fast forward to Jun 18, 2024. The day they actually completed the job to our satisfaction. The ******* contacted me about coming over so we can wrap this up. We've paid them (estimated) 80k or the 90 total for the job. In an entire year, THEY STILL DON'T HAVE A BUILDING PERMIT, and they want me to pay them. They are threatening to put a lien on the home. They are grossly negligent, and I will absolutely go to court over this if they demand the rest of payment prior to having a permit... NO BUILDING PERMIT... I see this as a major problem and I will never do business with this company again.

We have filled a lien against the client home as of July 2024 through our legal counsel. This was done to protect Rocky Mountain Outdoor Living against the client. Per the contract the final payment is due less any punch list items. We have completed multiple rounds of punch list items and have reduced the final payment by the amount pending for the permit. The client neglected signing and notarizing documents for the county for months with multiple reminders. The delay is the project was driven by the client in a scope of work change during construction. The client changed their railing to a 12 week custom order railing that could not be ordered until the framing and decking were complete. RMOL has never not completed a project with a permit in non-complete status and per the contract the balance is due less the permit fee. The permit is pending and will be completed as discussed with the client multiple times. We have heard the check in hand on multiple occasions per the punch list work but it continues to fail. The lean will be removed when the project is paid in full. RMOL 100% has agreed and will complete the permitting process to final. The client is often aggressive in conversation and inappropriate in their actions.

I am rejecting this response because: IN PRINCIPLE... They will 100 percent get paid when I have a completed inspection and a permit. Their accusations of me being hostile with them is not the case. I did display anger, but only after many, many attempts to get them to do the right thing. Secondly, they've done nothing buy lie from day one about every thing from timeline to permitting and now saying I neglected to sign a document. I received an email from them saying there was a document that needed signing but never got the document until almost the very end. This is a poorly run business. It took almost a full year to complete a project that was supposed to be done by November of last year. I tolerated this mostly because the ******* is just a super nice human being. The rest of the company however has no integrity, and I'll stand behind that statement for the rest of my life.

    Sincerely,
