We purchased a new home from Century Homes on 9/20 2024 and have been working with **** ******* with issues with the new home. We have entered the issues on Century web site and tried and tried to get them resolved. When I revisit the site it will show that all the issue have been resolved , when in fact no one has been to our home to even look at the issues. I have also reached out to ****** current boss, ****** ************* and have not been able to get anyone to call me back. The big issue we are having at this time is a problem with roof area between the gutter and the roof. Water is leaking through onto the inside portion of the fascia boards. I have tried Century phone numbers for help, but never get through to a person who can help. I am just asking for someone from Century to call me back and set up to have issues repaired before the warranty period expires.

I am writing to complain about improper electrical work by Century Communities Builders. I request a resolution to electrical issues in my home, including hot and ground reversals. I have submitted the information to Century Communities with no response received. My electricity went out in three rooms of my home. We incurred damage to a large appliance and other items. I hired an electrician to replace all outlets in the affected areas and repair the reverse grounding issue. As a result of the incorrect work put in place by Century Communities Builders, I was left with a hefty cost for repairs and corrections. The electrician noted that improper placement of the surge protector led to multiple issues, including substandard electrical outlets that were backstabbed. These issues pose a serious risk of electrical failure and fires. The remaining wiring issues need to be corrected, as its only a matter of time before the same things reoccurs in a different area of the house. This situation may involve violations of Georgia law, including:Violation of Georgia Residential Property Construction Act: If the electrical system was improperly installed or does not meet required safety standards, it could be a violation of the Georgia Residential Property Construction Act (OCGA 8-3-1 et al.).Breach of Warranty: If the electrical problems are due to defects in construction or materials, it may be a breach of the implied warranty of workmanlike construction, which guarantees the home is free from defects.Failure to Comply with Code: The improper electrical installation, including backstabbed outlets and surge protector issues, may violate Georgias building codes, which could require the builder to make repairs and cover any related ************ Concerns: If these issues create a fire hazard or pose other safety risks, the builder could be held responsible for any damages, including those related to property loss or increased insurance premiums.

We fell in love with and bought our home in February 2023 because the location and the design fit our family perfectly. However we soon discovered how shoddy the workmanship was. Super cheap paint that is so thin it rubs off when I wash any woodwork; the finish on the hardware on drawer handles is rubbing off; the cooling/heating system is terrible and I can only assume its due to less than adequate insulation; the cement on all of the sidewalks is cracked/peeling like shale, and where they were crushed by heavy equipment during construction were left that way; we have exterior cracks from our windows that spread out into the stucco walls; the sliding glass doors were so bad that it literally rained inside my kitchen. All of my neighbors have similar complaints. Its more than disappointing when the builder takes no pride in their product and is only interested in the almighty ***** We worked hard for and spent our lifes savings on this home.Shame on you Century Community.

Paint, on 1/25/2024 did painting around the house in areas the homeowner had concern with, on 3/5/2024 we also painted by the back door after repair of the leaking sliding glass door and then again on 9/5/2024 I had the painters sand down and caulk and paint again.

Hardware finish, the homeowner has never mentioned anything in regard to the hardware and has never submitted a ticket for it.

HVAC, verified the temps in the home are within normal range and I had ***** ****** go out to glue the attic lid insulation to the lid and check the attic insulation which was adequate.

Sidewalk Concrete, the cracks in the sidewalk are under the citys jurisdiction. However, no action required by Century.  We did repair concrete on her back patio and replaced multiple sections of concrete in her driveway that had settled.

The cracks in the Stucco by the windows are normal hairline cracks. I met with the homeowner early September 2023 and explained the hairline cracks.

The Sliding Glass door was leaking which was reported 2/7/2024 and was finished being repaired by ****** Feb 16th. On the exterior and the drywall was repaired 2/27/2024 and then caulked and painted 3/5/2024

    Thank you,

    Century Communities - ****

Purchased newly built home March 2023. Century Complete decided to mark most of my warranty claims as complete and didnt not repair them before the end of the year warranty. Also, further repairs are needed due to the house damaging itself and shoddy workmanship like bathroom walls falling apart, warping siding and drywall, countertops settling away from wall, electrical light sockets not working, outlets not working, pitted concrete (chips and holes), warped doorways, outdoor spigot installed incorrectly, grading of property causes standing water and **** throughout the entire lawn, cupboard and drawers fall apart after the simplest or softest closing, flooring damage immediately upon moving in that they said builders bought cheap stuff and this is what we are left with. You name it, stuff that didnt appear until after the year. House settling issues are one thing but most of these issues arent related to that. They are related to awful awful builders and a shady warranty department that does not care about the homeowners. I am currently getting 20+ other home buyers with this same issues from this company and will likely sue the h*ll out of them. Im not the only one with this problem in my subdivision.

I bought a century home in Dec 2023. For our one year walkthrough, we hired a private inspector. To date, I have not had repairs complete that I have been requesting and the warranty person I am working with frequently doesn't show up, return calls, texts, emails. He is unacceptable. I had painters here to fix nail pops, they did not speak english. I taped everything to be repaired ONLY, as I have painted in some of my home. They did repairs to things not taped that. I PAID to have painted already and now look horrible and do not match. I want my repairs fixed ASAP and I would like to have new painters come and re paint the stairwell with the same paint, at no cost to me.

I bought a new house and have had nothing but problems from their poor craftsmanship. 2 year old house and the furnace has gone out for a 2nd time. 1st time was when it was under warranty. They are saying whoever installed this furnace did a c*** job and cut wires that shouldn't have been. Century needs to do right and pay for an install of a new furnace. This is ridiculous

A member of Century's management team met with the homeowner and the HVAC supervisor to evaluate the concern, it was confirmed that the issue is not related to installation.  It was explained and the homeowner understands, that parts are covered under the manufacture's warranty, while labor is the homeowner's responsibility. As always, Century Communities remains committed to fulfilling our warrantable obligations.

The inspection report is dated 7/20/23. I told **** and **** that my backyard was eroding or in a negative slope, and they both told me that I was mistaken. **** even said that I acted as if I knew more about it than him as I continued to disagree with them both. I also told them that the sod was turned up in areas and that it should have been flat, more importantly it looked as if it had not been put down properly (rolled). I also noted that the yard had holes and dips, which **** told me to put sand there and it would take care of the holes and dips and when the grass grows everything will be fine. **** sent some of his workers to roll the sod which was about 3 months after I had moved in. ******** brought some of his people over and they put sand on the eroded area, and it washed away as well as the second time placing mesh over soil that did not stop the eroding. There remains to be large holes at the base of trees. The other areas of the yard are sinking, beside the house where there are pine needles and in the front yard where shrubbery was planted. I had two removed as they were dead, underneath were blue/gray rocks. ******** brought ********* over, who told me I had rodents, and I was responsible for that, and the *** was responsible for the eroded areas, and said the city of ********** cleared it.

As previously communicated to the homeowner, landscaping is not covered under the limited warranty. The homeowner has been advised to reach out to the **** as they are responsible for maintaining the yards.

    Complaint: 22790487

I am rejecting this response because:

The inspectors report (a valid document which Century did not honor) noted the erosion could damage the foundation. Century put sand and dirt on the hill that washed away, and they called that repairing. Had you done it right the first time So let me get this straight it is the homeowners responsibility to grade the soil at their homes, put down the sod and roll it themselves, repair an eroding backyard. Had I known this I would never have bought this house. Is this how Century gets away with not paying? Century knew of the holes, dips and erosion before I moved in. Also, I have emails and pictures to prove when I pointed it out to them. They were paid to do a job which they did not do and are now saying that I am responsible.

    Sincerely,

    **** Dae

My wife and I are in the middle of a buying process at this property. We toured a home on 12/31/2024. We worked with our agent to negotiate a buying price, which was agreed upon by ******* and Century Communities. We ended up agreeing on a price of $824,000 (cash, not financing, which we have been very clear about) minus a sellers credit of $25,000 and a hometown heroes (veterans) credit of $1500.We were happy with the offer, and signed the agreement. We then deposited our ******* money. 2 days ago, our agent notified us that they were no longer going to honor the $25,000 because it was a reserved for financing and instead offered $10,000. My wife and I were very upset about this and proposed a number of high margin, low cost solutions that they could provide to help make up the difference. They declined them, and instead offered an additional $1,500. My wife and I were planning to accept, except in reading the revised proposal, the $1,500 hometown hero credit had now also been taken away. This happened despite the fact that we received communications from ******* stating that "he" (presumingly the approving authority) had already approved this discount. The communication has been deceptive, and to us it feels beyond disorganization. We are waiting to speak to a supervisor at Century communities about this.

I purchased a newly built investment home with Century Communities on 8/2024. The house was vacant until a tenant signed on 11/2024. The tenant had issue with the dishwasher off and on, first with water pooling and then leakage from the door leading to damages to the wood of the island. Home warranty came out and cannot fix the issue completely and deferred the responsibility to Whirlpool due to a possible malfunction machine. Whirlpool tech informed us that the issue isnt due to the dishwasher malfunction but due to it being unleveled in which they re-leveled. I contacted home warranty to fix the damages from the unleveled dishwasher installed by the Century Communities leading to the damaged ***** of the kitchen island. Once again the responsibility was shifted now to being user error which I find its difficult to interpret. All my claims got denied, in which I ask to speak to upper management and was replied that their decision is unchanged and there is nothing they can do further to assist me. In addition to all these issue, the Whirlpool tech also informed us of a potential open hot wire hazard from no electricity from the outlet below the sink. Home warranty instead of sending technician out, suggested that it may be due to tripped breaker or wrong outlet plugged. On top of these, there are evident of possible concrete/foundation damage to the outside leading to a hole at the base of the house . Once again I contacted home warranty and they stated that its a rodent issue and the issue hasnt been resolved since.Ive own this house not even 5 months in and had all these issues with the lack of help and customer support from **********************. All issues were deferred or unresolved. This alarmed me about Century Communities Homes professionalism and integrity.I am reporting this company to the BBB in hoping that my complaints can be resolved as well as sharing my experiences of Century Communities with future home owners/investors.

Our warranty *** went to the home to see why the dishwasher was not running, our Warranty *** corrected the issue, Inspected the dishwasher and left the home. A couple weeks later we got a warranty request stating that the dishwasher was leaking, we referred the homeowner to Whirlpool, Whirlpool came out and said that one of the legs had been kicked uneven, and that is why the dishwasher was leaking. Our Warranty *** went back out to the home to inspect it, he told the tenants that were residing in the home at the time.

Previously, the dishwasher was level, connected properly and was installed correctly. The tenants proceeded to tell our Warranty *** that it had been leaking and they still continued to use the dishwasher. We notified the homeowner that it was user error, somehow the foot for the dishwasher was kicked uneven, and that the tenants told our Warranty *** that even though it had been leaking, they had continued to use it.  Our warranty manager denied the request for the flooring and the cabinet to be ***aired being that the tenants ***eatedly used the dishwasher knowing it was leaking . Our warranty manager also advised the property management company on the excessive use of the appliance even when the tenants knew it dishwasher was leaking.  All other items that were submitted have been warranted and completed.  No further action will be taken on this matter.

    Thank you,

    Century Communities - *********

I had an emergency warranty issue. I gave the company plenty enough time to address the issue with my ventilation system on my new home bought in June 2024. The company waited a long time so I hired a specialist to fix the roof **** placed on the ventilation system as the type of roof **** installed on the Home cause lint to build up at the exhaust exit meaning an dysfunctional roof **** was installed onto the home causing lint to build up the early. I contact **** the builder of century complete homes "clear springs" in ******* ******* who stated that he doesn't know what to do as it is written clearly in the home warranty contract that I should be reimbursed my money for the emergency repair done on the Home. I have an invoice of what was done on the home.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. ************* complaint.  The vent issue is no considered an emergency, Century Communities website and homeowner portal clearly display what an emergency consists of along with an emergency number. Ms. *********** submitted warranty claim on 12/21/2024 and on 12/31/2025 our construction manager spoke to Ms. *********** and she mentioned there was nothing wrong with the vent and that it was clear.  Century Communities declines any reimbursement due Ms. *********** hiring her own trade and not giving Century Communities an opportunity to look at the matter.

I am rejecting this response because:

    Sincerely,

    ******* ***********

There is no where on the site that states what an emergency is. What is considered an emergency should be in the written contract that I signed. I spoke with *** and just because it's his opinion that it's not an emergency doesn't make it an not an emergency. Why would I tell anybody that the vent was clear? That can't be proved anyway so that's irrelevant to say. What an emergency is should be listed in the contract as already stated because that's what I signed and agreed to.thanx
