On 7/3/24 I signed a contract with **** at RedCastle Builders for a basement project. I stressed the importance of having it done fast, and **** assured me it would be a 5 week project at most. After they started tearing apart the floor and received 25% of the contract amount it was radio silence for about 3 weeks. I tried to show up at any office listed and found out the company has not had an office for some time. **** finally got back to me and said he had personal things going on, so I gave him some ***** and asked to get the project back on track. Long story short, someone would show up to look at the project and then leave every other week. I followed the contract in regards to paying X amount of the money at X time and 100% upheld my end of the contract. In September I told **** that these delays were unreasonable, as we were 2 months into a 5 week project, and he agreed the delays were completely unreasonable. He would dodge contact unless it was to get him money. He asked for me to pay a certain deposit in order to get his guys paid. I later found out he had not paid some of the subs. Here we are 6 months later and I have one sub about to put a lien on my home. Another sub contacted me directly asking to pay him instead of **** because he thought **** wouldnt pay him. Ive paid around 75% of the contract amount already and gave **** a deadline & the option to discuss further if the deadline was unreasonable. We agreed on a time frame and he still fell short, so I am taking the next actions which I informed him I would take. This has been a horrible experience. I am losing money because I was supposed to have a tenant renting out the space that *** was contracted to work on, which was the reason the timeliness was so important. I have had to push **** constantly to get the work done and its radio silence most of the time. I regret ever doing business with this company and am sick to my stomach knowing that a lien will be on my home after paying.

I paid the builder for the foundation. He has not paid the subcontractor and the filed a lien on my property. I have fired the builder. I just want him to pay the foundation company and have the lien removed
